About
Astroneers undergo rigorous training to explore the frontiers of outer space for the good of all humankind. Creativity and ingenuity are key to their survival!
Astroneers are trained to use the Terrain Tool, a powerful instrument which can dig, collect, shape, build, and color terrain in any way they wish.
Build custom bases throughout the solar system to survive and thrive anywhere! Objects are snapped into place in a modular system that allows Astroneers to create unique builds. Automation systems, crafting stations, power plants, resource harvesters, and railway facilities are built from the ground up and can be customized to suit any situation.
This unrecognized system consists of seven celestial bodies. Each of them can be explored entirely, from the rounded surface all the way down into the core. Astroneers will have to grapple with their unique geography and challenging biomes if they seek to understand them.
These strange worlds are dotted with mysterious structures and artifacts, while Astroneers themselves receive confusing comms from unknown sources. Curious Astroneers may seek to understand these anomalies, and with them, the secrets of the solar system.
While they're perfectly capable on their own, Astroneers are team players who are always happy to offer a helping hand! Group up with other Astroneers and work together in 2-4 player online co-op. Playing solo online allows fellow Astroneers to drop in and out of your world at their leisure.
Astroneer began as an Early Access title on Steam in 2016, and reached 1.0 in 2019. We wouldn't be here today if not for our community's support, feedback, and ideation. As we continue on our journey, we want to reiterate our pledge to continue building on the foundation that is Astroneer with free, ongoing content updates.

Absolute cardinal sin of putting in a quest into your game that can only be completed by purchasing a DLC. Now my landing pads constantly announce that I've a completed quest I can claim the reward for but ... I can't because I don't own the DLC. Cities: Skylines level of scummyness. As a review of the actual game, it has so much promise and then just so much is jank or broken. It genuinely feels like an alpha of a game. The controls are atrocious, the inventory management is absurd, why can't you soft favourite things? Why do small canisters never fill up the same slots in my backpack? Why are there shoulder slots? Why is it so difficult to select an item in your inventory when there's a resource on top of it? Why did nobody play test these things and think of a better way of doing them? Why did nobody make the automation better... as it is in the game it should just be removed as it isn't fit for purpose. And why oh why is it not possible to unbind that infuriating ping on click!? Who thought that was ok? Why, for the love of all that is holy, is it so difficult to identify the different planets on the little map when you're trying to warp to them from the Bright Node?! This game is in an absolutely embarrassing state and the fact that they never fixed it before pumping out slop expansions and DLCs makes this a thorough disappointment. I keep going back to it to play the first 5-6 hours and just eventually stop before getting to the end because I want to experience a game that doesn't hate me. Also how are there performance issues in a game that looks so simple? It's not ugly but it's not exactly high poly, crazy textures, shaders and nuts lighting.
fun sandbox game with surprisingly alot of lore saving in multiplayer does get laggy over time due to file size, mostly annoying with vehicles megatech DLC was a bit funky on launch but its better now the train is fun
Don't waste your time or money. Muliplayer is broken and I haven't been able to connects to friends in years. System Era knows about this problem and ignores it. I've tried emailing support and their haven't nothing useful to say.

Such a fun game to explore and expand. Dig then process then build. Repeat
Good game!
A chill game, but it really doesn't hold your hand. There is a quest guide, but it's vague and I wish the guide would say "craft your first battery from your backpack" rather then me going through a small, medium, and large printer trying to figure out where to find it. The backpack also has tabs at the bottom that you can thumb through even though it's not readily explained. There are also two pull out menus on the backpack with multiple tabs to look through and sometimes its hard to remember where did I see this recipe before? You can also pick up and bundle debris, but sometimes have to dig it out of the ground, which again isn't explained. Fun game, frustrating start, but once you get the hang of it, things start making sense so long as you follow the guide, but resources can be wasted if you spend on a blueprints that the quest eventually gives you. So it's best to follow the quest line through, but if you get frustrated and can't find what you need it's easier to refer to a guide online to figure out what how to find it rather then flipping through the astropedia that is given to you. The astropedia is also kinda vague at best and will say things like this material can be found in "cave layers". I kept digging down trying to figure out what that meant and realized it's more about digging through. Other then that a fun, but kinda middling game.
