Astrolancer really makes you feel like you're playing an NES game. Instead of the left thumbstick, you're using the D pad. Diagonal shooting doesn't work the best when using the D pad. Astrolancer is aim at the target and the shoot instead of like playing a modern FPS. I almost refunded Astrolancer until I turned all cheats on. With the cheats on, Astrolancer is a very nice experience going from room to room with beautiful color palettes, and you become invincible and unlock all weapons. Overall, comforting experience. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/indieretrogamers
The trailer makes this game look far more exciting than it actually is. The first stage (top-down shooter and scrolling shmup sections) went on far too long and outside of the bosses was easy and boring. When the second top-down stage looked to be more of the same but with a palette swap I lost the will to continue.

Pretty fun little game!
Боссы старой школы the best, но какая же унылая хрень всё остальное.
This is really an amazing game. It is short, but I promise it is worth the price if you enjoy retro-style games.
Very fun retro styled game in the vein of Guardian Legend
Has the look and sound of the classics, with the feel of a modern game (no flickering, frame rate dying, etc.) A nice succinct story to go alongside too.
A lovely ode to one of my all-time favorite video games, The Guardian Legend.
this was genuinely such a fun little game, and that's all one can really want :)
I did one playthrough and this game is really good. It's has two modes of play. One mode is a top down adventure style shooter and the other is a top down flying shooter. It has NES style graphics and sound and they are done well for the most part. Some stages do have some odd color schemes but it doesn't effect the overall enjoyment of the game. It gets chaotic at times when fighting the bosses during the flying modes with all the bullets on screen but it's doable. This one is worth a play.
