Reviews
GOOD

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

good, missing some graphics, and the movment sytsem is a little janky
Astro Colony is an excellent factory-style game. Turn on your favorite podcast and chill-out building whatever you desire as you complete tech to drive you to the next universe. Almost no pressure (except running out of oxygen, which is only a three second delay before respawning). I started out building my base as one giant plane of interconnecting 25 x 25 floor tiles separated by 17x9 storage areas, leaving generous gaps in between which allowed me to fly under to connect wires, water, etc. This worked very well in universe 1 (once I manufactured enough metal plates to accommodate ample floor tiles), and building the blueprints to fit inside each span was its own entertaining little mini game. But in universe 2, I tried something different. I started building a Starbase. Once I unlocked glass and vertical piping, it opened a lot of possibilities. Level 1 consisted of asteroid catchers and raw materials harvested from planets (like uranium, mercury, etc.). Level 2 below accepted these materials and manufactured first level goods like rods, processed carbon into power, etc. In all, my Starbase consisted of 8 levels of over 10,000 floor tiles each, with plenty of open space to fly around. This cascading down design was much more efficient than my first base. From here, I expanded easily and efficiently, sailing through each universe and tech tree. The trickiest part for me was using the advanced logic blocks to filter items needing the same input port. But this was only a couple of cases near the end (and I could manually transfer specific materials if I didn’t want to use those blocks at all). I only needed to use two of the Basic logic blocks (filters on warehouse belts, and line-splitters). A small crew of astronauts composed of 2 cooks, 2 engineers, and 4 researchers got me through to the end. About a dozen bots hauled gold ore from asteroid collectors to a warehouse. And once I figured out how to use the mining bots, I found them much more efficient than the bulky mining drills. As for the game’s pacing: overall, very good. I felt a little fatigued after entering Universe 3, but it really wasn’t too much additional effort to complete Universe 3 using the infrastructure I had in place. Astro Colony mostly hits the sweet spot, providing enough challenges to keep me interested, but never feeling overwhelmed or bored. Learning curve was a bit challenging here and there, but nothing too bad. (Thank you YouTube content providers! We need more of you.) As for cons: the performance stuttered a bit as I flew from one destination to the next. But this was towards the end game, and I had a lot going on. The game never crashed while I was playing, but upon exiting, it often either gave a “fatal error” alert, or took an additional couple minutes to actually close to my desktop. However, these closing issues did not interfere with my saved games, so no big deal. The help system could use some improvements; perhaps small video examples of how you hook up new technology. The initial tutorial bot is okay, but I think they could do better. I give this game a 9 out of 10. Of course, your mileage may vary. But I enjoyed the creative freedom Astro Colony offers without getting bogged down in too many complexities. Definitely worth the price of admission for me!
It's pretty decent - you get what you see in the screenshots. While I'd say it's a tier below super-polished games like Satisfactory, Subnautica, Factorio, etc, I got ~35 hours of enjoyment out of this and am happy with my purchase. There are some minor flickering glitches on macOS under CrossOver, but nothing game-breaking and that's completely to be expected - roughly 1 in 4 games has an issue under emulation, so I'm happy it was otherwise fully playable. I had no crashes or anything.
