I used to re-draw pixel art all the time with MS Paint in the early 2000s and zooming into the canvas super-close with a magnifying glass. This program feels like that but with tools that make sense for a pixel artist. It's fun to just draw things even if you're not developing video games, though it can be super helpful for that. Definitely recommend if you're looking to get into pixel art.
