Very fun but just play EmptyEpsilon instead: its free and open source.
Collaborative games, playing WITH other players, is far more fun than PvP, and Artemis is an excellent opportunity to collaborate! Tuesday nights at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific there's a game using the free TeamSpeak audio client: Install that, then join Artemis Eastern Front! Saturdays there's another Artemis group game, the Terran Stellar Navy. Both have DIscord servers to help new players customize their setups.
Runtime on Steam is wildly inaccurate for some reason, likely offline play from the laptop. If you like the idea of what the game is, it's GREAT for an occasional play session with friends. I say occasional because the game is unfortunately incredibly shallow. There's so much potential for greatness here, but it's just not lived up to. At the end of the day, it's always about conflict, and ship fighting. I'd love to see exploration, puzzles, space weather phenomena, docking maneuvers, all kinds of things. Sure, it simulates a spaceship bridge, but it does so only to fight other space ships. The dream of exploration remains a dream.

My dog name is Fredrik, he is 12 years old and is brown. He loves taking bath in the water at home and I love him so much
it's fun solo but it can really be something special when you have a full crew.
Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator (2013) Remember the days of lanning games over a network with friends? Probably not. Everything is online these days. In this game you and friends pilot a spaceship - so each person get to man a station in the ultimate spaceship bridge simulator game. Needless to say back in the day we didn't really understand how this game work and many years later... well. I see there is a single player option but when I checked it out it said something down the lines of needing a 5 person lan - so not single player? Anyway, if you can get it to work its a very unique game idea. For people who always wanted to pilot the Starship Enterprise. 7/10
Outstanding gameplay I would however love to see the one thing that would put the game over the top.... In the next iteration of the game, I would like to see the STARBASES be manned. That's right, the ability to run the starbase complete wtih weapons defenses. How great it would be to allow the computer to auto protect a starbase, or have a player have the ability to assign someone('s) to a starbase as a mission and run its defenses. Might be a great trainer for new captains to get an assignment to a starbase and have to deal with all the issues. The weapons and power needs could be similar to a bridge with the exception to security teams and boarding repel and repair teams. It long over due. Add it to the game....
Brilliant fun, but not enough content to play for very long.
Buggy, bad graphics, bad network code, and feels like barely an alpha let alone a game that has been released for years. Honestly tragic because it's a great idea, just terribly executed.
Awesome game that gives you the Star Trek feel while allowing everyone to play from the comfort of their own homes. This game deserves far more love than it gets.
