Great tactical sandbox, I love seeing T-72s pew pewing
Do you like wargames? Proper ones that harken back to the Close Combat games of yore? Then this is a game you should consider buying. The graphics are poor, but having played it for more than I should the artstyle kinda grows on you. And honestly you'll spend most of your time looking at NATO markers anyway. It's less the "gotta micromanage this tank to win" and more "where should I put this platoon?". And orders take their sweet time to reach units, simulating the company commander having to relay orders to the platoon commander having to relay the orders to a squad leader. The DLC also adds Sweden, and since I'm a Swede I'm biased.
Almost a perfect tactical/grand tactical level wargame. Great campaigns and missions, fantastic unit and country selection with a massive amount of vehicles from the 60s to the 90s, great mission and campaign generator with a massive amount of replayability. The DLC is also very much worth it. AB2 offers a good amount of tactical challenge while still being fairly approachable as far as wargames go, with a good UI. Only the AI could use some work, especially enemies can be a bit too static, and AI stances for assault operations would be a very welcome addition to give the AI a bit more flexibility in choosing targets, cover, and assault routes. Performance is also very good, even in massive battles and on my weak system.
No-brainer, 11 or more out of 10.
Delayed Command is really unique to this game. And that how real life communication is You are section leader, Platoon Leader gonna receive order from Coy. Cmd., He gonna need a bit of time to confirm order and process it to each section, then you got the order, some movement order isn't issued right away. So yeah, I like that mechanic so much along with "Fire Mission" that have "TRP" which is not something many game do. JUst wanna thumb up so dev can create more good Realistic RTS like this one.
It's not good.
If you enjoy the garbage fps drops and complex controls of combat mission. Youll love this game!
A great step forward from Armored Brigade in visual immersion (with nice though simplified graphics) and very good audio effects, without stepping back from the accurate and realistic simulation that made earned success for the first title. For me it's a satisfying, Combat Mission grade sim but without the clunkiness.
I like this game ! I highly recommend
Very fun strategy game with surprisingly simple and robust way to generate your own campaigns and engagements outside of the provided premade ones for enhanced replay value
