Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 1.14/day in the week to Aug 27 → 0.57/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
Arma: Cold War Assault now runs on a modernized version of its original Poseidon engine: native 64-bit, Windows and Linux, support for ultrawide and high-refresh displays, full game-controller support, and a modern audio and networking stack, while it still plays exactly like the genre-defining original.
The engine is now open source
Bohemia Interactive has released the engine and game source code under the GNU GPL v3.0-or-later, in the spirit of id Software's classic source releases. Anyone can study it, build it, port it, and create with it. Game data and assets remain under Bohemia's Arma Public License Share Alike (APL-SA).
A free Demo is available on Steam if you want to try the engine before buying the full data and campaigns.
The full engine source code is available on GitHub — search for BohemiaInteractive/cwr

Ultrawide & any resolution: aspect-correct field of view; borderless, windowed, or fullscreen; selectable refresh rate and V-Sync
Modern rendering: new OpenGL 3.3 renderer with crisp scalable (TrueType) fonts
Full controller support: gamepad with deadzone/response tuning, plus fully rebindable keyboard, mouse and controller bindings
Modern audio: OpenAL backend with integrated voice chat (VON)
In-game mod manager: enable, order and download community mods from within the game (Bohemia's own catalog), no command line needed
New multiplayer back end: modern master server and in-game server browser (replacing the retired GameSpy service)
Open toolchain for creators: bundled tools for PBO archives, models, terrain, textures, sound and config, plus a standalone scripting evaluator and a Blender import addon

I've been playing some form of this series on and off since i was a kid, OFP was truely a big part of my childhood. It's where i learned to code while working on mods for a game i loved. It's where i met a ton of wonderful friends, and every so often i go back and play through it for the good old feels. If you don't mind some crunchiness from the 90s, give it a shot. I also should note, the main campaign is great, and the resistance campaign set a bar for me that hasn't been met by another game for quality of story and mechanics.
Dobra gra.

I feel so old for a 15 yr old
Best Games of All Time
I remember downloading the original Operation Flashpoint demo and playing it for hours on end. It was so good that there were "mods" that existed just for the demo to get more missions and such. I bought full game the day it was available and I still have those original CDs. Single player campaigns were great, but this game had such good modding and multiplayer scene with total conversions such as FDF. Map editor is simple to use and I spent countless hours on that as well, and then playing those contraptions in LAN with my brother. But that was then. I replayed all campaigns on this Steam version few years back and they were still solid to me. To this day I prefer this original "OPFP" for it's simplicity. It feels like a game and not diehard mil-sim. It has its quirks, but (admittedly with my nostalgia tinted glasses) that's is part of its charm. Although, I can understand if this game feels clunky if you were not there when it first came out. For reference, I never really got into ARMA2, for it just felt janky at the time and I liked cold war setting more. I've played ARMA 3 somewhat (~55 hours) and it was fun. I've tried to get into Reforger. It looks good, but has not clicked with me - yet. I'll give it another go later. I played few missions with this remastered version and it's still great. No changes there. What I nice surprise to get free update to a such old game. This is still the GOAT Arma for me.
