Awesome game!
Enjoyable gameplay. Cool aesthetic and atmosphere. Gunplay feels good. The core gameplay loop of exploring levels defeating enemies and looking for e-disks is fun and rewarding. I’d say the game is more of an action platformer than a roguelike. There are no procedural levels or varying ‘builds’ each run. The roguelike elements are permadeath, random weapons with random upgrade trees and random lockdown events in a level. Overall these mechanics work well and feel good except for losing a high tier, fully upgraded weapon to an unexpected death. I think a looter shooter weapon system where weapons are not lost, and you replay levels hunting for high tier weapon drops with random stats, perks and customization might have better suited the game’s structure. Overall very good game. The dev is constantly adding new features so I don’t doubt the game will get even better.
I like the pixel art style and humor so much in this game! As someone who grew up in the '80s and early '90s, this game feels reminiscent of the games back then.
I'm a sucker for clean-looking pixel art games that are sci-fi/futuristic/post-apocalyptic. Arksync gives me the Replaced meets Contra vibes. The gameplay is fun and challenging at times, and it feels good blasting fleshbags and taking down mechs. A huge bonus is dialogue is well-written with that subtle baked-in humor, which will have you chuckling at times. There is a noticeable level of attention to detail, from all the sounds of all interactions to the explosions of the littlest enemy, to the visuals that pop, or at times, just make you pause and take it in. I still have a ways to go, but 3 hrs in, it's a bit hard to put down.
If you ever played Abuse when you were young and always thought it had the best ever game mechanics and concept, you've been waiting in vain. Until now. This is exactly what you've dreamt of. Go old school and wasd around with your left hand and mouse-aim with your other, but in 2D platform. The gameplay is just super, fast, precise and extremely controllable. The setting is atmospheric and dark. The teddy bear is adorable. The weapons and upgrades are yummy. If you for some strange reason are younger than 40 and never played Abuse you should definitely try this for a completely different game mechanic than all other games available. I think you'll like it.
Good Game (•̀ᴗ•́)و ̑̑
A smooth, well polished and challenging twinstick shooter action sidescroller. I was sold on the visuals alone but getting a look at the gameplay and giving it a shot myself, it scratches a lot of itches that you'd get from a metroid or even a megaman zero type game, in the exploration and visuals department. the gunplay itself is very punchy and so far the weapons all seem very distinct and have good uses. I've yet to beat the game but so far it definitely feels like a very rewarding game. My only complaint might be the narrative, at least on the outset, seems more like window dressing than anything.
Arksync has some of the most satisfying shooting in any platformer I've played in recent times. The current Early Access version has some cool levels, combat, and a robust upgrade system for those weapons. Thankfully the nature of the game being a bit on the roguelike side means I can easily jump back into the previous levels as I collect credits to improve my weapons and get good enough to tackle levels that previously kicked my butt. The pixel art is fantastic as well. Despite the fact you're essentially on a trash moon, it's beautiful. The attention to detail is extremely well done, and despite the denziens of locations being some sort of zombies and robots - the places look and feel alive. This is a game that's definitely ready for you to jump into today, and I highly recommend it.
Ожидал большего. Удивительно, но игра вышла из раннего доступа. Поглядим чего они там намудрили, авось захочется поиграть, а не так как в 2024 получилось
