When I review games I try to look at them in the scope in which in they live rather than comparing them to other very different games. This is an indie game of a specific genre. I'm writing with those thoughts in mind. I absolutely love the atmosphere of this game. It brings me back to decades past when I was super into sci-fi and dreamt of a world with robots and lasers everywhere. The gameplay is a bit difficult for me and there was quite a few bugs but nothing game-breaking. When I first played the biggest issue was some audio issues. Particularly when I touched water, the volume would max out until I changed it again in the options. So I just avoided water. Definitely use a gamepad. Keyboard/mouse do work but it's clearly not meant for that. The combat is quite fun and there's decent variety of weapons and enemies. My biggest issue was dodging in rooms with a lot of enemies and projectiles. All around, it's a fine game that I think is well worth playing for fans of the genre. I'll modify this as I progress more but I keep dying for now. April 30, 2026
Haven't beat the final boss yet but that's ok. Every victory so far has felt earned, and that keeps me coming back. Love the retro style and the absolute menace of a teddy bear fren. Can't wait to see where this game goes!

Arksync is a great game in my opinion. Definitely worth the buy if you like metroidvaina style games. It's challenging and rewarding. If you like 2d platforming/side scrolling shooters like Megaman for example then this game is for you. It's not as challenging as Megaman in my opinion but it's still challenging in it's own way. Arksync is definitely worth the buy to me because you can get great value out of the gameplay for such a low price, even if you don't get all the E-disks (The main collectible in the game). The only cons I have is for one you can't backtrack while you're in an area, you have to redo a level from beginning to end if you miss something (like a E-disk for example). The other con I have about Arksync is if you die you lose all your weapons and upgrades you put into them besides your sidearm pistol (Your default weapon). Losing everything upon death is an incentive to play better so it's not all bad but that will definitely turn some players off especially if they're less skilled and/or they're less skilled at this genre of games. Arksync is a great game that definitely deserves more attention and I'm looking forward to finishing my collection in chapter 1 and I hope Dycom makes more chapters! If you're on the fence about the game and like the look/art style you should definitely give the demo a try, I highly recommend! Edit: Bosses are cool and unique!
Neat sci-fi game from what is a one-man developer. Could use more variety of harder enemies and deeper content in the later run, but it's a promising start
really cool mood and graphics. waiting for more!
Enjoyable gameplay. Cool aesthetic and atmosphere. Gunplay feels good. The core gameplay loop of exploring levels defeating enemies and looking for e-disks is fun and rewarding. I’d say the game is more of an action platformer than a roguelike. There are no procedural levels or varying ‘builds’ each run. The roguelike elements are permadeath, random weapons with random upgrade trees and random lockdown events in a level. Overall these mechanics work well and feel good except for losing a high tier, fully upgraded weapon to an unexpected death. I think a looter shooter weapon system where weapons are not lost, and you replay levels hunting for high tier weapon drops with random stats, perks and customization might have better suited the game’s structure. Overall very good game. The dev is constantly adding new features so I don’t doubt the game will get even better.
Eager to re-buy and recommend after: - demo saves transfer - achievements addition (they are mentioned in game, so to not to replay again to unlock them)
its a Good game . Great pixel art and gameplay you can tell the dev cares about the game . luv to see it keep up the good work
Very cool game. I’m excited to get in further.
I've had a good time generally, frustrating in the good way, but have had issues with multiple bosses breaking during phase transitions, forcing a frustrating mid-mission extract. I recommend it with above mentioned reservations.
