Its a good game with a lot of potential, though at this time it early access natures sometimes show in bugs and incomplete quests. The way it combines and immersive first person RPG with and tactical, turn-base and party-based RPG is an interesting approach I've never seen before an is likely unique at this time. The Good: * Interesting world and lore * "Deep" RPG mechanics * Engaging tactical combat (similar to what Larian has become know for) * Interesting leveling and class system featuring "careers" that can be change (and must be eventually) * Decent sized, semi-open world that will apparently be huge when done * Signature quirky humor similar to its predecessor, "Exiled Kingdoms" * Quests are interesting, well written, and entertaining The Bad: * Some quests are confusing or must be completed in non-obvious ways or require finding object that don't seem anywhere to be found or areas that are difficult to access and easy to miss * Bugs, perhaps the worst of which is fights starting with enemies spawned where they cannot be reached to finish the fight. * While having played Exiled Kingdoms is not required, if you have not some things will not be as clear or seem as meaningful. * The leveling system can be tricky because of some mechanic as well as incomplete content. Always quick save before leveling up, especially with casters as it is possible to get stuck in the spell selection menu because no spell are available for the school at the new level. * It is possible to create a party that is not going to be playable, or at least will make the game much harder. I had to restart in order to change my burgler into a ruffian, since my initial party had too many "squishy" characters for the combat heavy game play. * Questlines tend to be mostly linear Having said this, this is early access, and updates are still coming, if slowly. Presumably the world will get much bigger, and a lot of the missing content will be filled in. And, hopefully there will be fixes for the worst of the bugs. All in all, I'd recommend this game to those like old school RPG with challenging combat, detailed mechanics, entertaining stories, and interesting unique lore, If you liked Exiled Kingdoms you will probably like this unless time gets in you way. If you like Exiled Kingdoms and also like games from Bethesda and Larian then this Archaelund should be right up your alley.
Love this game only played for short time, ticks all the old school boxes with the modern comforts, can’t wait to play more and can’t wait for more updates. This is my first early access game and I am not disappointed, bring on the next update great work
A surprisingly engaging game with a relatively fresh take on exploration. Onboarding is painless and the narrative elements are to the point while not being heavy handed. The character models can be simplistic, as are some of the graphics - but overall the world is atmospheric enough to often suspend disbelief and feel immersive. Combat balance and character build progression is satisfying - and if you like to do your own thing - this one will definitely scratch that itch. Very enjoyable.
neat game reminds me of the old skool wizardry 8 rpg but with different mechanics
great mix of old school first person adventure combined with new tactical rpg fights, need more, thanks Splatter Cat Gaming, for suggestion
Well thought out character types. It makes me want to play several parties of different types. Fun to explore. Well designed game.
Incredible open world game. As good as Wizardry 8. It's that good.
Достойное продолжение Exiled Kingdoms, не останавливает даже отсутствие локализации, годно! Dear developers, I sincerely ask you to add a borderless windowed mode, thank you in advance!
