Squirreled Away

I've had a lot of fun playing this. The game does a great job at really making you feel like a squirrel, from the controls and movement to the animations of how you run and jump. Having spent plenty of time watching squirrel antics in my backyard growing up, I feel like they nailed the feeling and appearance very well. It's a really fun and relaxing game with gentle puzzles, a simple yet satisfying crafting system, and a really fun ability to design and build your own treehouses. There are a lot of small but wonderful quality of life touches like shared inventory between your houses that are really great and remove what in so many other games would demand a lot of tedious scampering back and forth to manage the locations of crafting materials. Bethesda games, please take note! Highly recommend this game for satisfying and immersive scampering and a fun experience that focuses on just being fun, long enough to satisfy but without overstaying its welcome.

The game had immense potential but then the devs got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ dissolved and it's such a shame.

If you're looking for a short and simple game, you'll probably enjoy this one. The game can be played either solo or in co-op. Graphically, it's a cute-looking game. You play as a squirrel exploring a park and helping other squirrels. Every NPC has at least one quest for you, but don't feel forced to complete all of them. Some quests are required to unlock new areas of the map, but aside from those, you can skip any quests you don't want to do or find boring. The building system is very simple and doesn't really offer anything unique. You have to build your home in specific locations, so you can't just build wherever you want or in any tree. Because of that, you'll often have to travel quite a bit whenever you want to rest or craft something. The game also has cooking, but there are only a few recipes really just a handful. I actually completed the game without cooking at all, except for one time when it was required for a quest, and that was it hahaha. Overall, it was a fun and enjoyable game to play. Getting 100% completion isn't difficult, and maybe one day, when I have someone to play with, I'll finish the remaining achievements.

Discover 6 Golden Acorns in each area, craft and upgrade tools, gather resources, teleport between your bases, and unlock the cutest décor to build and decorate! My favorite part is the movement! You sprint by default and stick to nearly every surface, making it incredibly fun to climb, leap, thru the treetops =] Easy recommendation from me, thank you for this game! 🐿️💛 TIPS: 🌳 Once you craft a Stink Bomb, it becomes a permanent tool you can swap to 📺 Craft two TVs and you'll be able to teleport between your bases. 🦴 You'll need the Bone Pickaxe to harvest scrap from cans. That scrap is required to craft the Bonker. 🌰 After completing a Golden Acorn circle, walk up to the blue glowing acorn to receive the blessing and activate the stamina buff. Also, the stacked stones provide hints about the location of the acorns.

I think about this game often. I think it’s that it partially hit right when I needed it but also that it is just perfect. I adored the different squirrels you meet, the mechanics & how cozy i felt. It is absolutely a comfort game for me & I wish I could experience it for the first time all over again.

Pros - Perfection - Worth every penny - I'm addicted and I need more squirrel content Cons - From the sounds of it, the dev team got dissolved. - A absolutely beautiful and perfect game that ascended too soon, and by no fault of the devs <3 May we one day get the proper squirrelhala we deserve.

I'm enjoying Squirreled Away!🐿️💚 It's such a cozy and fun game with plenty to do. I love that it combines exploring, completing quests, and building your own treehouse. There's always something new to discover. Cuteness level is through the roof, can't wait to continue my adventure! Thank you for creating such a gem.🌳
