Absolutely addicted to this game on my steam deck. Multiple play styles and goals to give hours and hours of playtime.
After 200+ hours with Arcadium - Space Odyssey, I can easily say it’s one of the most fun arcade-style roguelite shooters I’ve played in a long time. The game blends classic arcade visuals and sound effects with modern bullet heaven gameplay perfectly. The screen gets absolutely packed with enemies, projectiles, explosions, and chaos, while the fast-paced music keeps the adrenaline going the whole time. What keeps me coming back is the replayability. Between the different ships, talents, items, and artifacts, every run can feel completely different. It’s really fun experimenting with new combinations and finding powerful synergies or unique playstyles. The endless mode is also fantastic if you enjoy pushing your limits and seeing how far a build can go. The game is definitely challenging at first, but that’s part of what makes it satisfying. As you learn enemy patterns, movement, positioning, and build strategies, you gradually improve and start making deeper runs consistently. The progression system also feels rewarding, with ship upgrades and unlockable artifacts adding long-term goals without removing the challenge entirely. For the price, the amount of content and replay value is honestly excellent. I’ve already gotten hundreds of hours out of it and still enjoy jumping in for “just one more run.” If you enjoy arcade shooters, roguelites, bullet heavens, or games with fast action and strategic build experimentation, this is absolutely worth picking up.
As someone who has tried other space survivor-like games, I wasn't entirely sure if I was going to enjoy this one. Happily enough, I have fallen in love with this game. The progression here is a little odd, especially comparing it to other games in the genre but you can clearly feel your characters getting stronger. I'm also a massive fan of the skillful loop of landing on the planets which gives you a better extraction of the resources. It's a small detail but a welcome one. The next thing I think that gets mostly overlooked in games like this is the music. This is one where you want to keep the sounds turned up because not only is the music wonderful but it also acts as an audio cue for when things start to ramp up. Keeping things in line with the overall design, I love the different looks of all the planets, the space in the background, the enemies and just overall theme. It scratches that nostalgic itch of Galaga, a game that I grew up min-maxing with quarters at my local pizza shop. So far, I haven't spent a ton of time with the game but the time I have spent has been rather great. I can't wait to find what else lies beyond the next corner, planet, character and build.
Good gameplay loop, fun combat, interesting skills.
Very, very good! better than a lot of other games ive played before, just needs some new and secret (may have missed out on those lol) ships.
Games pretty fun the system work well and it's fairly unique for its genre though the game does become less interesting the more you play it as there aren't much in the way of game changing items and scenarios so runs can start to feel fairly similiar especially with the seed randomness not really mixing things significally as common, rare, and mythic planets don't really often difference beside higher or lower gold and exp,
