Her Name Was Fire is an alright game, and at its price point it is a really good game. There is not much in the way of content to be fair, but it plays really well and every weapon/upgrade is well balanced. The first however many hours of game play are super fun, and it is super exciting trying out different builds and weapons, however, those few hours are also enough to get used to everything and try out each of the weapons and upgrade paths. I definitely think this game is well worth buying and enjoying and I had a lot of fun with it.
A visually striking roguelike, bringing style to the genre that i find to be very pleasing to the eye, some really interesting ideas, and an unfortunate verdict: the game is no longer receiving updates. It needs balancing, and some new content or perhaps a few different variations to give it some more substance, but instead we're left with.... A frankly, disappointing roguelike experience. I think the game could definitely have become one of the more celebrated titles, with some more love. Instead, the game was abandoned back in 2023, after a mild update. Truly sad to see this one die.
20 minutes till dawn if it was actually good
game feels ok to play and was fun for the first 1-2 hours until i think there's not much customisation/synergies to do. A lot of the skills do pretty much small chance of damage increase and the only powerful combo i found was Witch + Fasting, which after a while just let me skip every boss fight. The boss cards takes a lot of time to unlock and the only one i cared about was maybe the Devil not recommended if you're looking for a time sink, but ok for just a short fun
I like the gameplay, but it seems to crash in specific scenarios when playing on Windows 11, I haven't noticed issues when playing on Linux; a very similar senario is listed in bug reports forum, it has not been fixed and the report is dated for last year, if the issue is resolved I will change my recommendation, provided I don't find another crash bug.
Well, it is a horde survivors-like (-like), but a not a good horde survivors game/clone, I don't like it b/c: - holding a button to cast/attack / no auto-attack is simply terrible - plus, popups / new skill windows interrupt this casting just to add insult to injury - quirky punishing skills - an extremely slow grind and unrewarding runs, unlike most horde survivors games that let you increase your passive bonuses and powers exponentially after each run (not even a won one) - yes, buyable skills don't make you more powerful, only less or more the same On the flip side: + nicely balanced when it comes to waves of enemies + you hunt down servers that open areas with bosses + except for the main spell casting (which is a major thing), neat fluid controls, combat, movement, dashing + cool soundtrack
