I absolutely adore this game and its really fun to play especially with all the shells and shuff but it has some glitches from time to time, still amazing game though
I really enjoyed playing whats formally known as crab souls, it really is peak. In a vaccum act has many of the qualitys that make a great souls-like. it has fun challenging bosses, great level design and of course a dodge roll. Now i wont lie about the combat system, it can feel a bit button mashy agaist certian bosses (im talking about the adaptations) and you do get a bit overpowered at the end imo. Adittionally the shell system is really cool and so is the parry, the problem comes at the end of the game where the parry just dosn't do enough stance damage to make it worth your while. Now i say in a vaccum bc that theres alot of platforming in act, and it can really take over in some areas of the game. Theres a big focus on the platforming part and its fine cause its alright platforming, but many assets do get reused throughout the game the puzzles of shuttleport where my personal fav. Speaking of shuttleport it lead's me to my favorite thing about act, and thats the level-design and worldbuilding. shuttleport was insanely fun to play and í had many moments where i went "how do i get over there" and then later in the level i would get there and be amazed on how i ended up here. many other places on the map has simmilar moments, but shuttlport was definetly my favorite. The devs also nailed the worldbuilding and it really leans into the comedy and absurdity of the game, and its great. The quality of the bosses vary and they have both high peaks and some lows. for example, the final boss was great and i really enjoyed the gimmick bosses leading up to it. BIG SPOILER
also i didn't expect firth to come back and challenge for the perfect whorl lol. but its cool tho he sucked anyway
but something like the ceviche sisters just isn't really fun and you could just stand back and parry to take them out easily. The game is not to difficult (for a souls) either so pretty much anyone could play it if you really wanted to. I am cosidering going back and 100% act and for me act is an 8/10 and a game i will deffenitly remember. you should play it if you have even some interest in playing.
