Anodyne

A fun shorter Zelda like with a focus on exploration and discovery. You won't be collecting many items on your quest, but you will be learning how to do more with the ones you already have in fun yet simple ways. The variety in it's environments is a particular treat, as each one is absolutely dripping with unique atmosphere. The whole game game is very dream like and ethereal, leaving much up to interpretation. If you don't enjoy the act of interpretation the story of this game may not be for you (though I still think the gameplay stands as good on its own), but if you do find meaning in searching for questions in the cracks between then you will be richly rewarded.

Anodyne foi uma grata surpresa. Não são apresentadas muitas inovações além do uso da poeira da vassoura em alguns puzzles, mas o jogo cativa o jogador através da sua execução perfeita da simplicidade que, aliada de vários elementos que trazem carisma e frescor à narrativa, como a sacada de ter cards colecionáveis, a ambientação interessante e a pixel art bem-feita, pavimenta um caminho sólido, em que se observa facilmente como os desenvolvedores se esforçaram para entregar uma boa experiência. Ainda, preciso ressaltar como achei interessante algumas das escolhas de game design, como o sistema de progressão, que achei inteligente ao optar pelo simples, com poucos upgrades de personagem, e a opção por uma campanha enxuta, mas divertida, em que não se observa excessos ou áreas repetitivas. Tudo que está no jogo agrega, nada sobra.

Of course everyone has already talked about how this is like an awesome 2D Zelda game but hey. It does a dang good job of it. Thoroughly engaging the whole way through.

Its a little goofy, a little dark, consistently strange. I had fun exploring it.

Delightfully surreal. I love exploring the disparate environments and talking to characters who seem to be comfortable in their own context without directly acknowledging the absurdity of the larger setting. Also love any top-down Zelda style game that has jumping.

pretty good

It's like a weird dream about a Zelda game. Some of the subject matter is disturbing, but there's a lot of variety and oddity and beauty here too. Overall I enjoyed it. It really is an interesting take on top down Zelda. It has a lot of interesting puzzles, but many of them are trivialized by the fact that it doesn't seem like the designers could decide if you should be able to jump over one tile or two. It's odd that they didn't do anything about that in the remaster.
