About
As governor, how you build and govern will shape your story, your citizens’ destiny, and your provinces’ future. Will you cooperate with other governors or prove your military prowess by challenging your rivals? The cost of peace is yours to decide.
Build your provinces with unmatched detail, flexibility, and scale. Watch kids chase dogs through the streets or thousands cheer in the arena. Build upon the land that you see, from the beautiful heartland of Latium to the mysterious Celtic wetlands of Albion… where no civilized Roman wants to be.
Design the cities of your dreams at the peak of the Roman Empire as you balance your people's needs with the relentless demands of the emperor. Forge alliances across the empire or showcase your might with strategic land battles and naval combat. You may even defy the emperor himself – but not without consequences.
Every decision you make as governor matters. Will you honor local Celtic culture or enforce Roman traditions? Grow your provinces through diplomacy and commerce or conquer through military strength. Your choices will shape not only the future of your citizens and your provinces, but your own story as well.

I know this game has been getting mixed reviews but i am enjoying the game! Getting to build my own Roman or Celtic city and all the different systems and stuff. Its neat! Ive been having a blast!
I love the game, but Hate Ubisoft Connect, which for some unknown reason, they seem to be doubling down on instead of getting rid of it.
Terrible - released with so many bugs, reverted to playing Anno 1800 as its a much more polished experience. Update - game no longer launches from Steam or UPLAY.
It's an expensive, soul-less DLC trap. From a historical perspective there's nothing interesting. From an Anno perspective it's just the same reskinned formula. From a Ubisoft perspective they're milking the franchise. I can totally see it being worth 20$ or so, but at current prices? Save your money, unless it's your first Anno game, then I can understand.
Really good game but releasing a year 1 pass without all the dlc of the first year is a scam. DLC means Downloadable content, it's not because you rename them cosmetic pack that they stop being DLC
WANTED TO LOVE IT SO BADLY TOUGH BUT FOUND... - campaign that simply stops mid-narrative - settlements that feel lifeless especially on zoom-in - unrefined animations e.g. rowing ships being stiff af - even stiffer naval combat - RTS-borrowed lowkey military mechanics - sloth-slow feeling of research progression - heartless AI-Art in loading screens - bad UI e.g. misses to show propper overlappings of aoe which are kind of essential -... Tough the roman setting has so much to offer, everything in this game feels unfinished, lacks of refinement and most of all: love. And that needs proper time for development. One could tell, that they released way to early and now I was disappointed to play something that feels early-access but for a full price. Thanks Ubisoft! There will be propably some DLC coming to mend some holes here, but i fear that unrefined smell will stay with anno117. If you consider buying: Go, play Anno 1800. /bow a friend
