About
As governor, how you build and govern will shape your story, your citizens’ destiny, and your provinces’ future. Will you cooperate with other governors or prove your military prowess by challenging your rivals? The cost of peace is yours to decide.
Build your provinces with unmatched detail, flexibility, and scale. Watch kids chase dogs through the streets or thousands cheer in the arena. Build upon the land that you see, from the beautiful heartland of Latium to the mysterious Celtic wetlands of Albion… where no civilized Roman wants to be.
Design the cities of your dreams at the peak of the Roman Empire as you balance your people's needs with the relentless demands of the emperor. Forge alliances across the empire or showcase your might with strategic land battles and naval combat. You may even defy the emperor himself – but not without consequences.
Every decision you make as governor matters. Will you honor local Celtic culture or enforce Roman traditions? Grow your provinces through diplomacy and commerce or conquer through military strength. Your choices will shape not only the future of your citizens and your provinces, but your own story as well.

Was fine for the first couple months. Now when I press launch on Steam or Ubisoft launcher it just keeps reopening the Ubisoft launcher, game never starts.
Der Kornspeicher ist voll, my Lord! Müsst ihr wissen! ...
Ubisoft continues to lead the way in worst studio around. You have to register an account with ubisoft and use their stupid launcher. Plus they took away the ability to play it offline. Its basically the perfect list of how to piss off players. I returned it and wont be purchasing any Ubisoft games ever again.
Game feels... unfinished. After reaching the highest citizen tier and building the monument, it feels like it's just a reskin of 1800, but with more annoying island-wide debuffs and building effects that constantly interfere with each other. Being alble to build on the diagonal is nice though. Having to go through the Ubisoft launcher, which doesn't connect half the time, is also very annoying. It made me postpone my purchase by at least a few months. Sadly, however, I'm still an Annoholic, so I bought it anyway, along with the Season Pass. In hindsight, the Season Pass feels like cut content sold separately, especially considering the price of the main game and how little it offers. With all the talk about Ubisoft using AI, you'd at least expect more content—not the abysmal amount of cosmetics in the base game, followed by the release of two paid cosmetic packs that weren't even included in the Season Pass within a year of launch. The campaign also feels like it was taken out back and shot halfway through. Just wait for a massive sale and a complete game. Don't give Ubisoft the satisfaction on their sales numbers.
соси ♥♥♥ юбисофт
I beat the entire campaign at this 19 hour mark, which is a bit of a let down. the systems feel far less complex than other anno games which is good for a simpleton like meself, but the price tag doesnt justify the content here. after beating it there was no fun left to be had for me even in sandbox mode. maybe ill return to this game in years to come but by then it will be filled with the ubislop dlcs, and even then if i wanted to get an hour per dollar i spent on this game it would take multiple more playthroughs which i do not see happening ever.
Game does not work on Linux with Proton (Intel Arc B580 GPU and NixOS 25.11). The Ubisoft Connect launcher gets stuck at "Preparing to launch your game". Some people on ProtonDB however report that it works. Oh and also Ubisoft doesn't like it when people go into their ubisoft connect feedback channel in discord and provide the feedback of "please add official Linux support". My post there got deleted twice. Guess this is going to be the last Ubisoft game I'll be buying on here. (At most I'll buy ones on GOG, as they do not use the launcher there). (Also steam tracks the PC specs wrong too. It says there are only 128GB of RAM instead of 504GB. And just in case the CPU is 2x AMD EPYC 7642 48-Core)
Ужаснейшая оптимизация. Играть желания нет.
