So far it is a decent shooter that actually runs way more smoothly than I would have expected. The core mechanics are that of a normal shooter with ya shootin, ya dogin, and ya run straight at ya like classic zombies style enemies, but at the core all these are really solid and well done. Simplicity is my favorite thing. I do wish there were more choices of gun in the game, but as it is still early access then I am hoping for various weaponry in future updates. While the graphics themselves are simplistic, they are at least used well and in all the right ways I think. I do actually enjoy the soundtrack too which normally I never notice, whether it is random royalty free soundtrack or some homemade noise goods it at least goes well with the game. While the game itself is well done an solid it still has many glaring issues to it. For starters you can not go back in levels if you ever find yourself stuck and want to grind to make it easier on yourself. Your main strength comes from upgrading your guns which you get the upgrades for from enemy drops so if you did not grind enough drops then you will have a rough time even on the easy diffculty of the game. Enemies themselves also just spawn way to frequently and right on top of your position with no visual or audio warnings at all. So while you are stuck trying not to get hit by the bullet hell of the first 20 enemies the next 20 will just spawn all around you further adding to the struggle. Some enemies still have long lingering hit boxes even after you kill them reminiscent of darksouls 2 jank and it is frustrating as all git that you have to wait for half a minute before you can run into an area to even attempt to collect drops before you inevitably get blasted from 30 angles by a hundred projectiles blasting at you. Overall it is a good game, but it needs a lot more work and balancing done to it.
Anime FPS: Guns vs Magic is a roguelike first-person shooter developed by BEPLAYER and published by BEPLAYER Games, combining anime-inspired visuals with fast combat, fantasy chaos, and progression systems built around repeated runs and growing power. Rather than grounding itself in realism or military simulation, the game embraces an energetic and exaggerated identity where magical worlds collide with modern firepower. It delivers an experience designed around speed, constant action, and the satisfaction of becoming increasingly powerful while facing larger threats. The premise immediately establishes the game’s playful tone. Players take control of an ordinary person suddenly pulled into a fantasy world through a familiar isekai-style setup. Instead of adapting to this strange new reality through swords and traditional fantasy heroism, the protagonist gains an unusual advantage that shapes much of the game’s humor and identity. Modern conveniences and contemporary thinking clash against monsters, magic, and supernatural forces, creating an intentionally ridiculous atmosphere that never takes itself too seriously. Combat serves as the foundation of the experience. Large enemy groups pressure players constantly, creating encounters built around movement, reaction speed, and aggressive offense. Survival often depends on maintaining momentum while navigating increasingly dangerous situations filled with projectiles, magical attacks, and escalating enemy threats. The action focuses less on realism and precision shooting and more on creating entertaining chaos where mobility and adaptation become essential tools. Weapon variety helps strengthen long-term engagement. Different firearms allow players to approach encounters from multiple angles depending on preferred playstyle. Some options encourage precision and careful positioning, while others emphasize raw crowd control and relentless damage output. Combat flexibility creates opportunities to experiment across multiple runs, which fits naturally within the roguelike framework. Randomized progression elements ensure encounters remain dynamic rather than entirely predictable. The progression systems provide much of the game’s long-term appeal. Death is not treated as failure in the traditional sense. Instead, each attempt becomes another opportunity to improve, unlock advantages, and refine strategies for future runs. Growth occurs gradually, rewarding persistence and experimentation over time. Players become stronger through upgrades, blessings, and evolving builds that steadily transform early vulnerability into overwhelming power. Magic and supernatural systems further expand gameplay possibilities. Divine blessings and fantasy-themed enhancements create opportunities to customize combat approaches while reinforcing the game’s power fantasy structure. Building increasingly destructive combinations becomes part of the fun. The experience fully commits to the idea of turning an ordinary protagonist into something far stronger than the world around them expects. Enemy encounters scale effectively to support this progression. Smaller creatures eventually give way to more dangerous threats and larger confrontations that demand greater awareness and stronger builds. Boss encounters create major milestones that help break progression into meaningful segments while reinforcing the feeling of steadily overcoming greater challenges. Visually, Anime FPS: Guns vs Magic embraces colorful anime-inspired presentation that matches its exaggerated design philosophy. Bright environments, energetic visual effects, stylized enemy designs, and fantasy aesthetics work together to create an identity focused on entertainment rather than realism. Combat sequences become visually explosive events filled with movement, projectiles, and magical effects that support the game’s chaotic pacing. Humor also plays an important role throughout the experience. The game consistently embraces absurdity and self-awareness rather than attempting serious fantasy storytelling. Modern concepts placed inside magical worlds create amusing contrasts that strengthen personality and distinguish the game from more traditional roguelike shooters. The willingness to lean fully into its unusual premise becomes one of its greatest strengths. The roguelike structure naturally supports replayability. Multiple runs encourage experimentation while progression systems reward continued investment. New combinations, different combat approaches, and evolving player skill create reasons to return even after setbacks. The repetitive nature associated with the genre exists here as well, but the variety introduced through upgrades and combat choices helps maintain engagement. The game does have limitations. Players searching for highly tactical shooting systems or deeper narrative complexity may find greater emphasis placed on action and entertainment rather than storytelling depth. Its intentionally exaggerated tone may also appeal more strongly to players who enjoy lighter, more playful experiences rather than serious fantasy adventures. As an ongoing project, there is also room for further refinement and expansion. Some rough edges associated with developing independent projects remain noticeable, but the core concept demonstrates clear direction and confidence in its identity. Anime FPS: Guns vs Magic succeeds because it commits fully to delivering chaotic entertainment without hesitation. BEPLAYER creates a fusion of anime style, fantasy absurdity, roguelike progression, and first-person action that understands exactly what kind of experience it wants to deliver. Players looking for fast combat, colorful presentation, and progression systems built around experimentation will likely find plenty of enjoyment hidden beneath its intentionally outrageous premise. Rating: 6/10
one of the best anime shooters in a long time very funny gameplay.
good for me
OK I rarely review, but saw the other reviews and see that you guys work on the feedback so heres mine: Pros: I really love the game so far, interesting concept, funny dialogue and charaters, and super fun gunplay Enemies are basic but diverse so still feels super fun to gun them down when they come in HUGE numbers on hard, super fun! Cons: The world feels a bit empty without any fun easter eggs to find, only having to chase the mission (I know only a few hours in so maybe i havent dug into it enough yet) Can we please make the double jump have less gravity? we fall so fast and the height feels so low i rarely use the jump in favour of just dashing Can we make it that we can look around while we dash? would make it feel much more active
I love the idea of the game, the gameplay is very cool, the graphics are amazing.
Pierwszy oficer pokonany i podoba mi się to. Poziom Trudny jest bardzo trudny. Poziom Normalny do przejścia.
