About
What is it about?
Retail therapy is a Fast paced Rogue-Lite Arena Shooter where you play as the worlds more dangerously armed and disgruntled employee on the planet. Your goal is to go to work, earn your wage and spend that on trying to last longer and longer in the endless mode.
How it plays
In this game you will be tasked to fend off hordes of angry customers in arena style based levels where you will choose your setting from the PC in your room, here you will also be able to choose what length of level you want to do ranging from 3 Minutes, 10 minutes or everyone's favorite shift... the all dreaded AFD!! All while earning minimum wage! Do not worry though, Customers will sometimes drop tip jars for your hard work that you can pick up so you can speed up the upgrade process!
Difficulty slowly increases overtimes so sometimes you absolutely will need to bring out the big guns.
Upgrades + Progression
Purchase new weapons to add to your armory, we have shotguns, katanas.... and fish? Yep we have an exploding fish and then do it all again JUST LIKE REAL HOSPITALITY :D Each weapon however does cost more depending on what it is, if you want the firepower then you gotta work for it!
Abilities!!
For the real workers here you can also purchase weapon abilities with those hard earned peanuts, whether you want to fire ragdoll managers in bulk or if you want to use a disco ball that shoots lasers or even our personal favorite, get Stabby crabby to help! Only 8 of the weapons have abilities though as 2 of them REALLY do not need the extra firepower.
Ammo Upgrades!!!!
During the game you may find those ammo reserves can be a little bit shallow, so you have the option to use some of that sweet sweet income to buy even BIGGER POCKETS so that you can be assured you can give all of your customers the exact same treatment.
Map Gimmicks!!!!!
Each arena plays completely differently, the Supermarket have long linear sightlines for you to bob and weave in and out of the shelves or even on top of them! The festival offers a wide open space for you to run around and avoid the swarm, there is also a big red button for you to push! And the Restaurant has a slew of obstacles that you can the enemies risk getting caught on!
Work, Buy new weapons, Repeat!
This isn't customer service. This is Retail Therapy!

Finally, a game that captures the true retail experience! Fast-paced, chaotic, and deeply therapeutic. The art style is gorgeous, and nothing beats the satisfaction of keeping the “customers” at bay.
Fast paced, unhinged and the customer is always wrong. 10/10 would clock in for another shift.
Can I speak to your manager?
Sure... but how about you speak to the bus instead This game is so much more fun (and addicting) than it has any right to be. After dealing with karens IRL for so many years and thier shenanigans, it is so very satisfying to finally let that pent up rage out in such a ridiculous and chaotic fashion. And if you have some how managed to live your life karen free, first of all... HOW? Second of all, fear not. Because I can guarantee that you will find joy from this game. I mean c'mon, where else can you launch a literal bus at karens? 10/10 - therapeutic, chaotic, and very unhinged.

Complete chaos — in the best way possible. This game keeps you coming back for more, whether it’s to rage a little longer or because you still haven’t managed to complete a shift and your bank balance is in shambles. You have to keep grinding until you can finally afford all the ridiculous weapons the game throws at you! Definitely recommended if you’re after a fun, silly game to distract you from reality for a little while. Excited for the next project!
This cured my retail rage, as a fellow "wage slave" who lives on AFD shifts, I can say the retail references are accurate in the best of ways. If you don't buy this for the therapy then buy its for the unhinged weapons because, yes launching a whole bus at customers is very satisfying This game is the therapy I can't afford. 10/10 Would use the restroom for a 5 min break again.
A surprising amount of fun with a team of passionate developers behind it. A good way to let off some steam with some hilarious jokes thrown in.
I wasn’t sure about this at first because I don’t really play shooters like this. The enemies felt tough in the beginning, but once you get used to how the combat flows, it clicks. Learning how to handle each enemy type actually feels pretty satisfying once you get going. A big positive for me is how often the game gets updated. It’s clear the devs are still actively improving things and paying attention to feedback, which makes me feel confident sticking with it. Honestly, it grew on me way more than I expected. If you’re unsure, give it a go.
Retail Therapy is the first game by a local to me, indie studio known as Crabby Games and is a delight, especially knowing the passion that went into it. The game is a horde shooter where you work shifts at one of three locations and try to survive! Whilst basic it is absolutely full of British charm. From weapons like The Chav, a grenade that disperses a Chav to vape and apply poison damage to those around them, the Confetti Gun, a Confetti-Thrower that has great ammo economy, wave demolishing qualities whilst also being a really fun gimmick! These weapons come with an ability upgrade you can purchase, the Chav Ability lets you throw a lighter to explode into burning area denial helping you clear those dastardly Karens, I found this to be most useful. The Confetti Gun allows you to summon a disco ball to beam down the hordes! These two were my favourites so far, so I'll let you discover the rest. I received the game as I'm close to one of the developers and this allowed me to stream it, which I had one of the other members of Crabby Games chatting with me, changing the game AS I played, being very receptive to feedback. This game in the form of a bus gun, that I felt slowed you too much and expanded to it's full size too slowly, in that same stream I downloaded the patch and it was buffed to be bigger and lighter! The only real changes that I think we need is to have the save reset button on the main screen ask for confirmation, has a restart option in game when you win or lose so that you can instantly restart on the same map and mode and then just some balancing changes, that Crabby Games are already committed too. A fun couple of hours!
I received the key for this game from the devs via a key drop in the community discord server, and I'm very thankful! It is a very fun and chaotic game, with good jokes and humour! If your looking for a game to let off some steam, this is a go to. Cannot wait to play more! :)
Honestly a massively under priced game for what it is. I really enjoyed the progression and the voice lines were great. My favorite weapon probably has to be the chav grenade. The concept for it is stupid funny and it works incredibly well in game. When I contacted the developers about a bug in the game they fixed it almost immediately. If your looking for a bit of fun I strongly recommend retail therapy.
