I have mixed opinions about this one
I really want to enjoy this game, but there are too many aspects that it falls short in. I'm a fan of the Killing Floor series and I can tell that the developer of this game is too based on his display of achievements in it. This game is fairly similar to it and it almost seems that the dev had a bit of influence from it. The main problem that I have, however is that the game says how it has a ton of replayablity. I do not agree with this because it feels like it's the same thing over and over again. Levelling up in this game grants you new special characters to summon, but it also gives you a skin for the only weapon. Short Version The weapon that you have to use feels like you're throwing rocks at most of enemies. The reload speed is extremely slow and the normal walk speed for your character is slower than almost every single enemy. The missile shooting enemies are able to shoot their missiles through the world, so you could be hit by a missile with little to no chance to move because it goes through the house you're standing in or through the large object next to you obstructing your vision. Long Version The main problems I have is with the progression and gunplay. The game does not make me feel like I am progressing or becoming stronger at all. After about an hour of gameplay, I'm only level 4 and have the giant turd ally unlocked and a few weapon skins. The items that you can pick up are most of the time useless, especially the defender cat characters. Half of the time, they get lost or disappear. If you're lucky enough to keep yours, then it shoots once every 5 seconds or so. This wouldn't be so bad, if most of the enemies didn't take 9 bullets to kill. Also, the reload speed of the gun takes about 5 seconds and has a magazine size of 25. When you have to use half of your mag to kill most of the enemies, and have to almost constantly sprint to avoid being hit, I feel like I'm reloading almost as much as I'm shooting. The map design on almost every level is pretty neat and enjoyable, except for "Ice Level 3" (The shield was gone, but it kept blocking my shots on basic enemies that kept spawning and innevitably caused my death), but some of the main enemies just feel like bullet sponges and it spawns too many of them to deal with most of the time. The design and models of the bosses look great and are creative, but quite a few of the bosses feel the exact same. Most of them just sprint really fast towards you and spawn some sort of common enemy found in that level type. In Conclusion As I said before, I really enjoy this type of game, however I feel like I'm doing the exact same thing over and over again with little to no meaningful progression. I just unlock enemy types and weapon skins for levelling up with the occasional ally thrown in every few levels. I feel like this could be a great game because it is very creative and has quite a cool concept, but it lacks in the gameplay and progression. I cannot recommend this game in it's current state, and especially not for $8. Quick Edit I will be checking in on this title as it continues to be updated because I really want this game to be good. I enjoy the creepiness and the concept of the game is very interesting. I also like how the developer is active in his threads and reads reviews to get community input for future potential updates. I hope that this game gets more traction and succeeds because I really enjoy the good things about it.

This is my review of "A Dream For Aaron" after approximately 2 hours of gameplay. I have been a fan of this developer since the Timore series which was played by Youtuber Markiplier. It was my first introduction to this developer and I really enjoyed watching the series, but never purchased any of the games personally. Today I decided to finally purchase this new release before watching Youtubers, as I wanted a fresh and personal experience without spoilers and boy it was worth the purchase. This game took me back to the arcade shooters of the late 90's and early 2000's. A game where you attack waves of different enemies and then attempt to survive long enough to face the level's final boss. I really had a lot more fun than I expected, and I can see myself trying new levels and challenges in the future. I noticed a large variety of creatures with varying attacks, that relentlessly hunt the player down through a very creative map. The maps also seems to include day/night cycles and weather effects. The difficulty level can seem quite high at first, but not to the point of raging. Once you come to terms with the map design and the little quirks the game presents to the player it becomes easier to defeat the level. It may take some trial and error to find out the best way to defeat enemies and it's smart to avoid running into dead ends, which can easily lead to your demise. The game is also great for casuals and those who want a "pick up and play" experience. The music was pretty cool as well, and I felt it helped set the mood and pace of the game quite well. I would love to see a co-op mode for this game or even a VR style version as it would be a lot of fun. I also look forward to more levels and even crazier level design and maps. On a final note, some scarier maps would be appreciated as well! The game has a lot of potential and for the price tag you can't really go wrong.
Perfect game
dude if u see this game GET IT! it RULES i love this game i cant stop playing it the skins of the guys are really cool so far and it just dont get old that Music makes it EPIC!!!
A Dream For Aaron (ADFA) Is one of the Best FPS's I have ever played, It's quick, Simple and not that difficult. Monsters are at a good pace and the level designs are one of the most craziest and astonishing thing in this game, it's not too fast paced and the Replay value is amazing. I could play this for hours. One of the best games out there
This game is a fun challange that makes you work hard to advance. The levels are fun the music is fantastic and fits the pace of the game the gunning and running is quite exilerating and the boss fights are a chore. With little to replenish your health you really must pay attention at all times or you are going to have a bad time and game over. The little trinkets you have to find and shoot add a second layer to each level when you are not surviving you are hunting for those all in all i am truely loving this game and anticipate quite a few hours being put in by me. Totaly a fun game and i have to suggest it to anyone who likes a good hard FPS
This game is definitely fun to play, and the custom soundtrack just makes the experience much better. Mowing down mobs of enemies with the amazing soundtrack is quite addicting. The gameplay can be challenging, especially as you progress through the levels, if you're not aware of your surroundings then you will become overwhelmed by enemies hitting you from all sides. So make sure to use platforms to your advantage, and to stay on the move. The level design is very creative, and it is quite enjoyable to see all the crazy designs. For being in early access the game already offers a lot. If you like first person shooters and unique indie games then this is for sure a game to try out.
A Dream For Aaron was one of the funnest, most competitive Indie games I have played in a while. I loved it! The soundtrack is awesome and sets the mood for your gameplay. The game can be a bit hard, but once you get a feel for it you will be able to complete really hard levels easily. This game has awesome levels with tons of monsters, collectibles, weapons, and bosses. Awesome game with lots of replay value! Would recommend!
Sorry Vidas I have so much to say about this game so get ready for my honest PROS and CONS. PROS: WoW this game is just I don't know nothing like flipping off your enemies and seeing them explode to a million pieces. You heard me right in this game you can flip off your enemies by pressing " I " the bosses are quite easy so far. This game is just awesome. The Music is fantastic and smart just rockin in badassness. HOWEVER!!! CONS: ENEMES ARE TOO FAST YOU CAN'T RELOAD WHILE RUNNING the enemies will kill you if you reload cause your so damn slow THE FLYING ENEMIES ARE HARD TO KILL not mention super annoying HEALTH DEPLETES LIKE CRAZY when attacked of course SPAWN RATE IS CRAZY HIGH no chance to take a small breather between Waves of enemies NO GUN UPGRADE all they are are skins nothing more
Fun game with good jokes , like serious sam but much harder u can't play without strategy :D.
