A beautifully illustrated, 2D top-down game with a focus on zen-like journeying, light puzzling, precision-platforming and fallen gods.

jogo bem legal superou minhas expectativas trilha sonora show graficos bem legais gastei pra caramba.
I'm an original backer of this game, and I was a little disappointed by the little content the game delivered. I do not, by any means, regret backing this game, as I did it to help the devs make it, not because I was eager to play and thought it was going to be the best indie game ever. But the final product is...well...below expectations. It has a puzzling story told by diary entries, something that reminds me of Braid storytelling, with a bit pf poetry in it's writing. The art is beautiful and unique, which pleases the eyes of a 2D lover, and the soundtrack is very...unusual. A little to repetitive, but it's somewhat relaxing and different. The gameplay is solid, but a little bit frustrating. It was a design decision to offer 3 "dungeons" or 3 "trials" where you get your gameplay elements that are used only there and then taken from you. There's a sword in the snake animal god trial, a bow in the spider god one, and a dash in the lion god dungeon. Out of these trials you just walk and approach things to read them. The enemies are dull, executing only predetermined paths, with no reaction to the player. They're there acting more as moving trigger/switches that have to be destroyed before moving forward. They act more as a chore than threat. The pacing is very very very slow, to the point of almost monotony, which is hindered continuously by stairs that slow down even more the walking speed. This is also related to the poetry-like design of the game, building some drama to the journey, but ending up being just annoying, specially for a re-run. Anyway, it's a short experience that last roughly 2 hours. There are reports that the game is bugging and not giving a specifc achievement, which will frustrate achievers, and the game unlocks a new mode called 9-lives after you beat it, which gives a little replayability, if you want to suffer with the ultra slow pacing again. Gather everything and the price tag and you'll end up with a no-no recommendation. The artsy feeling of the game doesn't go well with the little gameplay content, annoying pacing and achievement frustration, making it too expensive for the experience it provides.

OKAY, the only reason why I bought this game was because it was dirt cheap and I thought it looked pretty. I finished one dungeon and it was repetitive and boring. Not to mention that the soundtrack gets grating after a while, really really grating, I thought I was going insane as I died over and over again to the platforming. But I do have to say that the art is actually really really pretty. Though I don't like the PC's walk animation the visuals are decent enough
É um jogo simples, com algumas mecânicas que lembram clássicos antigos e outros indies. Veio num bundle que comprei e, apesar de não ter me arrependido de jogar, não recomendaria a compra. A simple game with some mechanics inspired by classic and indie titles. It came in a bundle I bought, and while I don’t regret playing it, I wouldn’t recommend buying it.
Simple and repetitive (or relaxing, depending on how you look at it) mechanics. Great visuals, music, and atmosphere. Simple and interesting story.
I have no hesitation in recommending this, as long as you don't expect an epic game with innovative systems. It's a very solid little game that perhaps makes you think a little, and has graphics and sound to die for, The Good Stuff: - The graphic design is magical. By keeping it crisp and clean, with a unified art-deco style, it gets away with not being especially state-of-the-art. - The music is equally magical. Normally I mute sound very quickly, but this game contains a variety of musical themes that are very evocative. (It's very reminiscent of Zelda games, which meant to be high praise.) - The game is designed to be played twice. Once with no penalties for "dying", the second with a limited number of lives but, of course, you've learned some things from your first time through. This is very clever, and the game is, as noted, quite short, so revisiting it in this way works very well. (I know it's not a new idea, but it feels qualitatively different to the traditional "extreme" mode that many games unlock upon completition.) As someone who isn't a twitch gamer, I felt challenged but not overly frustrated and was really happy that I could play the game to the end without artificial limitations - something that other games could learn from, perhaps. - I haven't played many games that are top-down platformers. (It sounds like a contradiction in terms, but it's the best I can do.) This makes for an unusual experience There is definitely a reward in patience: learning the patterns is very possible and the game rarely bounces you into a position where split-second timing is the only way through - I think there may be a couple of cases, but I may have missed the "safe" routes. The Bad: - I don't really want to call the story "bad" because it isn't. But the non-linear way they have chosen to tell it, combined with the weird approach of stamping text onto some of the levels themselves, really does not help. (And I speak as someone who loves non-linear storytelling.) - There are some levels where the checkpoints are simply annoying. I understand why, and I don't really hold it against the design, but it's worth noting. - The zooming in and out effect is very distracting, and detracts from the appreciation of the style at times. - There is a distinct lack of clarity in explaining how the different powers work, and where they work. And there are some choices in the level design that feel as though they are there to frustrate rather than be a challenge (like the double "jumping" sequences.) Given that these complaints are pretty trivial, it's easy to see that I rate this game. No, it's not a masterpiece, destined to appear in GotY lists, but it's far better than average.
Recomendo, jogo bonito, enigmas bem feitos, estória triste, mas bacana
