About
Enter ANEURISM IV, a sprawling metropolis where the proletariat works without question and the air is thick with decay. As a Spirit—a spectral entity on the verge of becoming flesh and bone—you stand at a crossroads. The city is yours to influence, disrupt, or simply observe. With no set goals or rules, how you engage with this world is entirely up to you.
From the hardworking Prole to the affluent Banker, each fate offers unique abilities, challenges, and ways to interact with the city and its inhabitants. Your choice defines your journey:
Align with the Cortex to stabilize and protect the city.
Join the Scumbags or Zealots to spread the Rot and sow chaos.
Remain Neutral and immerse yourself in daily life, working in factories or exploring the city.
An ever-present threat, the Rot visibly alters the city as it spreads. Roles like Liquidators and Scumbags are pivotal in either containing or exploiting this menace. If left unchecked, the Rot will consume everything, leading to the city's demise.
ANEURISM IV is a sandbox simulator first and foremost. The city reacts dynamically to player actions:
Take Down the City: Collaborate with others to bring about the city's downfall and witness its reset.
Protect the City: Work to maintain order and keep the Rot at bay.
Live Your Life: Engage in everyday activities or carve out a unique path—it's your choice.
Survival depends on your willingness to work. Earn credits by taking on various jobs—labour in factories, manage resources as a Prole, or manipulate finances as a Banker. These credits are your lifeline, allowing you to purchase necessities from shops, trade for valuable goods, or invest in property.
In ANEURISM IV, there are no rules dictating your actions. Every decision you make impacts the city and its inhabitants. Will you bring stability or chaos? The choice is yours.
Total Freedom: No imposed objectives. Play your way.
Dynamic Consequences: Every action influences the world around you.
Multiplayer Interaction: Invite friends to join your world—collaborate, compete, or coexist.
Survival Mechanics: Manage your nourishment and sanity in an oppressive, ever-changing environment.

I go prole (neutral fate) and pull out the 9mm I got while I was playing scum (non-neutral fate) and use it to walk up to a liquidator (neutral fate) whose sole objective is to keep the scum (not me, I’m a neutral prole remember) from rotting the server (non-neutral outcome) and neutrally blow his neutral brains out. I face no consequences for this as that would imply an lack of neutrality in anything I just did. Fun game
Tired of the pk, grinded to become a cop. Another cop combat baited me with the limitation system, killed me, and sent me to the underworld with -16 cytes. Can't recommend, too much pk. In the spirit this game was intended, don't buy unless on sale.
I've played this game a TON since the end of 2025, at first figuring it was just an off-shoot of DarkRP with dystopian undertones but something felt fishy from the get-go. Don't get me wrong, I actually... fell in love with it? I took everything in stride that happened in-game, from crap tier players to sadists trying to ruin your fun, you keep going, but it turns out all the community complaints about the game having biased mods and devs that simply do not care about the player, and there being a small clique of individuals ''shadow governing'' without even being devs are starting to be apparent due to how they're censoring every bit of critique. Game changes made are far in and between and often result in breaking the game and making the experience more and more miserable. I understand some suffering but it feels like a bad meme at this point. There is a very serious underlying ''issue'' that I will mention now in an edit because one of the developers (Aaron) is trying to besmirch me - apparently a member of their dev team was caught soliciting minors (apparently a community manager - some say Aaron himself, check the reviews) or in the very least justifying or celebrating this type of behavior, and the general consensus is that the team is covering it up, which (I assume as a semi-jest) has resulted in an underground meme revolving sexual deviancy, and using the in-game bulletin board to spread such slander and vitriol, even if in bad taste. For instance, people leave messages about random players contacting them after mentioning being a "minor", random players accusing eachother of being the P-word, in-game voice over chatter about the devs being the P-words, and so, going along with the joke, I participated, poking fun at players in the apartments, accusing them of being predators wanting to engage in such behavior. I have many screenshots of such messages left behind by other people, but because I've been a vocal critic of the game and the devs, I've been pinpointed. Aaron, the developer trying to besmirch me, has left behind a comment, I have decided to leave it up so as to indicate how out of touch he is regarding the problem within his own team and how he refuses to address anything else. Isn't that funny? The devs are crooks - they will take your money, but if you critique the game you will be silenced, snuffed out and banned from the game in a most abhorrent manner. The game's dead and exclusive to a small clique of Redditors. It was good, but they kept ruining it, and outside of updates, a certain circle within just ruin it for everyone else. I had fun but I no longer recommend this.
Aneurism IV feels like a waste of time My main issue with the game is how it doesn't respect your time, most of your time will be spent playing the prole attempting to grind out enough points to choose a better more fun fate. The Prole is mind numbing to play as you do repetitive tasks for pitiful point progress while hoping someone doesn't kill and steal your stuff. When you do have enough points to play another fate I fear gameplay isn't too different. Again with repetitive unengaging tasks, teamwork hardly feels necessary. If you die tough luck, back to being a Prole and mindlessly hitting a piece of iron with a pipe. I thought to myself was I really having fun doing this? Is doing the video game equivalent of slave labor fun? The answer is undoubtly, no. The game is not worth buying even on sale.
This game used to be kind of interesting in the beginning but has since fell off. lack of server moderation, cheaters, constant DDO's attacks and bugs have pretty much killed off the entire community, I came back after a good while when i got tired of the constant DDO's attacks only to find the game is now a shell of its former self. The remain player base seems to float around 40 to 60 players which is enough for a single server. but the gameplay itself is still boring and most of the time people are just standing around. Plus there seems to be another bug currently where player models are just standing around in the middle of the street so the game is still janky even after a year of development. If you looking for a good game to invest your time and money in, this is not it.
i do heavily enjoy this game but definitely not for sandbox enjoyers, in my experience this game is frustrating when you are just trying to play the game and a random loser shoots you in the back of the head and calls you a slur or something, but if you're successfully moving on through fates and you're having a good time, absolutely a great time, personal experience the Banker has the most eventful interactions with people because you are basically a walking talking bank, most enjoyable fate in this game i think is the Sanitar, you get to do cop things, shoot people, fix broken things, and clean the streets of corpses and the rot, fun time, people hate Saniar though, so be careful anyways i do recommend this game for those who enjoy pvp, fun game Glory to the Cortex!!! (a good friend gifted me this game, none the less i do think this game is worth the 13)
Game is great, community is full of chill people, however the devs and mods are awful and hand out game bans like sweets, wasnt even on their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ chroma server where they all hang out and was still banned even though i did nothing actually wrong i just happened to know the guy they despise. a troll and griefer got trolled and griefed and ran straight to his dev pals in the vellocet discord and made a report claiming harassment causing an immediate dev ban, these people are cry babies and cant handle dying on a game where u die 24/7. its alot easier to blanket ban 20 people and claim "cheater and griefer" "harassment" then actually remove the mods and devs that are causing problems, they never actually recieved these admin roles for their ability to moderate, no instead they recieved them because they're all pals. they would rather this game crash and burn then take accountability for their awful admins anybody defending these people in these reviews are doing the community injustice and hurting themselves by feeding into their egos
They ruined the game. They changed the gun recipes and restricted it to certain higher scum roles. (Higher than even a scumbag) All for the sake of making the dealer have a bigger role. But hey, at least the limitators that already were a team effort to kill by the scum are now buffed even more.
great game, but a horrid fanbase filled with team killers, griefers, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and more
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY UNTIL THEY FIX THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME. Developers will do anything but actually fix/improve existing problems and will add new half-baked mechanics and content instead. The game has been out for a year and they can't even manage to do metalworks right, every patch that "fixes" stealing just doesn't. This game is actual misery (and not in the appealing way, or the map) Metalworks rework? Just sit in the furnace and take it! Or limitbait! Better yet, you can stand on people's heads to force them to crouch! or, get this, quenching metal causes it to just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ be void to the stealing system, meaning anyone can just snatch it. And that's not to mention the cyte baiting. Wanna mine on Nightmare? Nope! someone's guarding the door! Wanna make metal bars? Nope! someone's sitting in the furnace, or there's a cop hugging you waiting to shoot the ♥♥♥♥ out of you when you hit them on accident. The only consistent way to get cytes hasn't worked since launch and it makes this game a pain in the ass to play. The mechanics that allow you punish stealing players doesn't even work either! Someone snatch your bars? Well, you can kill them without losing cytes, but your ass is never going to kill them in time before they hide/turn in whatever they stole from you unless you like carrying illegal guns around and being limited for their murder right after. And you know what? At least they show they're trying with the band-aid fixes and the new map(s). (Yes, they're working on a 3rd map while you can still freely walk behind a counter in one of the shops on Misery) All of this would be fine if the weak fixes didn't take SO. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. LONG. Cops being able to limit bait was fixed just recently (metalworks rework was June of last year) and it's just unacceptable with how long you could get away with ♥♥♥♥. The devs ARE improving the game, but just not fixing the problem that makes the new content so hard to reach in the first place. Another thing is the map asymmetry. After Misery came out, it was easily going to be the most played map for a while, so the developers were obviously going to focus on it for a while. However, this also lead to almost all of the new features that came with/after the release of Misery to not be present or translate horribly to nightmare. Good luck getting contrabundles when about 4 properties have a workbench for you to interact with, know that problem where scum entrances were too obvious and easy to camp? Still a problem on nightmare. The devs made rogues unable to use armories underground.... Unless you're on Nightmare. This is why the game has dropped down to 2, maybe 3 active and full servers forever until it dies. Im just repeating myself at this point, but the main problem is this cycle: Mechanic sucks/is buggy/isnt fun ---> people complain/leave ---> devs either ignore it and add content that doesn't fix anything but is an actually good idea that will probably never get expanded upon or add a bandaid fix that does nothing ----> people come back with the promise of a fixed game and new content ---> the novelty wears off ---> back to step 1 I think the worst part is that every time this cycle happens, the "mechanic sucks/ is buggy/isnt fun" part amplifies by about 2x until you have the game right now as of writing this review. This game was fun while I could ignore all the issues and honestly it's given me some of the greatest memories in a game I've ever had, but enough is enough, I dont care how small the dev team is, if you can make a whole new map but can't fix a fundamental mechanic of the game after one ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ year just stop making games altogether man. If you want to buy the game, it could be worth a shot, but if something is buggy/frustratingly bad in execution expect it to be actually fixed in the coming decade. (or never)
