In this game you play a little dragon that defeats enemies in waves, or bosses every so often. So far i have not unlocked everything but there is good amount of stuff to unlock. The enemies seem a little simple at times but they get the job done, the bosses so far are nice. You get about a dozen active abilities and some passive you can mix and match, progression is permanent just like a rougelike. The stuff you get in a run is well balanced but you still need some luck. Combat is rather simple, you auto-target the nearest enemy with autoattacks and single target stuff, the rest is aoe. Overall a nice little game. However i wish some more customisation would come. For the qwertz users having to switch keyboard layouts is a workaround but assigning the keys to my liking would be awsome. Also some graphic settings and sound controls on the main screen, but those are just minor things. I did not have any bugs, crashes or glitches yet. I would say for the little price it is a worthwile try, not awsome but definitely not barebones. The start is a little hard at wave 5 but thats just a little barricade. PS. im not good at grammar ;)
One of the most funnest game i played for a $1 this game is so underrated and the best part the new update made it better.

I am really impressed with the responsiveness of this game developer. My review was initially negative, although I was conflicted on whether to recommend it or not. Within the day, an update came out addressing several of the problems I had with the game. That's very impressive to me. I hope to see the developer continue to nourish and work on this game; it is fun, but I still think it needs some work. I would hope that each of the 6 aspects get an associated environment and set of enemies to go along with them. There are currently only 3 elemental environments and enemy sets, with an additional base environment for the first 5 waves. While this game does technically have 144 spells, there are really only 24 spells with each of them having 6 variants. There are 6 aspects which represent various elements. Each aspect has a different intrinsic skill, which is applied to all skills for its aspect. So, technically, the beam attack for the 6 elements is slightly different because it applies a unique affect for each aspect, but other than that they really are the same. This game is competing with a lot of other cheap survivorslilkes. The vast majority of survivorslikess are under 10 dollars, with some of the best being only 5 or less like Picayune Dreams, Vampire Survivors, Brotato, and Boneraiser Minions. That being said, Ancient Guardians: The Dragon is still a cheap game. With how expensive everythjing has gotten in the past few years, $6 is not much for the amount of entertainment it can offer. I think the people that will be most interested in this game are either suvivorslikes aficionados like myself, who want to try out the many different options out there, and people who have a particular affinity for dragons or flying characters. I'm excited to see where this game ends up going.
A surprising amount of game at this price. The game is early access, which is why some features aren't working yet (I wasn't able to play in the other areas of the game, even when I selected them) but the bones of this game are good. Flying the dragon feels good, and the stamina mechanic is well balanced. There are plenty of unlockables, and a decent challenge that requires you to level up your dragon. All in all, I had fun with this, which is what matters. I hope the developer keeps making this game better.
fun game also now has controller support allowing for handheld users to murder the evil men as well. id give it 1546 dead 13505 injured out of 10
Is there a way to switch arrow key movement to wasd? Game is great, but it's very annoying to play on a 60% keyboard, having to hold down the function key to move and then also use skills. WASD is now working :D Sometimes I do seem to be randomly dying. Like a new wave starts and I have full HP over 1500 and suddenly I'm dead.
At the moment this game is a balance and control nightmare, but it definitely has potential. That's why I recommend it.
A little game but with a lot of strategy. So many possibility and choice. The developer update almost every week. Join the discord and give him suitable suggestions ,he will surely like to hear and take 'em! 尽管游戏很小但是内容不少,有不少的选择和组合。开发者更新得很勤而且听劝。可以直接加入discord讨论组直接和他说,开发者人还是很不错的。大部分合适的建议基本都会采纳
