From the creators of Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Dear Esther comes a new first-person horrorgame that will drag you to the depths of greed, power and madness. It will bury its snout into your ribs and it will eat your heart.

Reviews
(Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs и Amnesia: Dark Desent) достались мне по какому-то бандлу, в добавок дали и Call of Ctulhu.
Boring, confusing and poorly told story, overly verbouse dialague and notes. Underneath it all there is a good story here but It's not told or represented well. Not worth your time. 3/10

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Unfortunately quite a big step backwards compared to its predecessor. The missing survival mechanics such as managing light and sanity as well as the generally weaker presentation make it impossible for the game to reach the level of The Dark Descent for me. That is also one of the main reasons why the game rarely feels truly tense. Most enemies are fairly easy to avoid and overall the constant pressure that made the previous game so effective is simply missing here. That being said, I really liked the setting and the designs and some areas were genuinely atmospheric. I especially loved the writing. This mix of poetic and overly dramatic language combined with cold scientific terminology and at times almost vulgar dialogue works surprisingly well and made reading the notes genuinely enjoyable. I also found the story and the whole concept surrounding the machines and experiments quite interesting even though I feel like the game had far more potential. Overall it is definitely not a bad horror game but if you have played the previous title you will quickly notice that a lot of what made it special has unfortunately been lost here.
Perto do final, o jogo fechou do nada duas vezes, me fazendo perder mais progresso.
Saying this brilliant, story driven game is walking sim is like saying a good book is a page flipping sim.
The story and the ending in this game for me were just 👌 Everyone want the game to be how They think it should be, and this is why all the games are a mess these days. How about You just enjoy the story the developers tried to tell and be thankful You live in an age where You can experience it. A lot of people hate on this title... Sad, very sad.
A Machine for Pigs is the sequel to Amnesia: The Dark Descent. While taking place in the same universe and sharing many of the same mechanics, it still manages to ring hollow when compared to the original Amnesia experience. It feels like the studio that took over production for the second game failed to realise what factored in to make the first game great. By removing the previously required management of your matches and oil, and your insanity level, the game turns into even more of a simplified walking simulator without any friction (hehe). Especially the start of the game feels both narratively and atmospherically significantly less compelling and spooky than The Dark Descent. The plot seems much too obvious, the events and motivations of characters don't feel as believable and thus you don't even feel the urge to explore the mystery at hand as badly. Later on, partly due to the lack of any insanity mechanic, the monsters aren't half as scary this time around and they aren't implemented or used as effectively. Also of note is that the FPS is locked to 60 or 40, which I'm not completely sure is intentional – but either way feels bad, though you can probably fix that without too much of a hassle. At least narratively, I have to say though that A Machine for Pigs does pick up a bit in the latter half. The climactic final chapters have an urgent, dramatic and relatively tense atmosphere to them, though the final boss doesn't really feel like it's in the spirit of Amnesia. The ending manages to feel quite emotional and provides some small twists and good closure, though there aren't multiple endings either this time around. All in all, Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs is a decent horror-themed walking simulator of a game with good polish. The worst thing about it is that it's preceded by such an excellent game. Genuinely one of the best stories I've had the pleasure of playing through. True victorian gem. I don't care about people who berate the game for being a walking simulator. Top 2 Amnesia Game right after the first one.
honestly 85% of the game is mid and the "puzzles" felt infuriating at times tho that ending got aura and hype moments fr
