Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.14/day in the week to Aug 18 → 0.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

The game starts with an explanation that it was a labor of love made in 2 years, and while I feel bad for telling a passionate team how their game failed to be any good, it's more akin to telling a toddler why their behavior was bad. If you don't, that team won't grow and mature to make something of actual value. As for the actual gameplay itself, dialogue and story are simple and barely there, but some random NPCs have information you might actually want for exploration, so talking to them is a must. Your character doesn't move very fast, I got used to it, but ladders are everywhere and you move even slower climbing them. Combat is just a short range melee, which is awful when there's so many enemies with ranged attacks that require you to slowly push a block forward or eat the hit of a random throwing arc just so you can move on to the next screen. Make sure your health isn't too low though because 3 hits sends you back to the last checkpoint, which is typically 8-9 screens back from whence you came. Grinding for health drops is annoying, but it won't matter much since instant kill water and spikes are everywhere, often forcing you to wait 4 minutes before attempting the jump that killed you the last time. Only to find out that the jump you made brings you to an area for a power you haven't obtained yet, so chalk one more backtracking adventure on the terrible featureless map that tells you nothing about the rooms you visit. All for a pointless collectible that lets you deal 0.05 extra damage to bosses. I find myself asking why I'm not just playing a better action adventure style game while I'm staring at my 30th death screen. From what I've heard, Alwa's Legacy the successor to this game does a lot more with its title, so just skip this one and play that instead, though I can't vouch for its quality yet.

This should be a neutral vote, mostly because it was the first work of a very small team who spent 2 years on it, but doing a retro-styled game does not completely excuse it for being tedious and a slog in places. Passing off some outdated and trollish game design, a dull world and non-existent plot as love for the "good old days" does not make these things automatically better. Sure, there are a few nice puzzles, but the glacial pace, constant one-hit-kill traps and annoying backtracking make exploration somewhat of a chore even after you find the fast travel warps, and the rewards aren't always worth it. It would've been better to give us a different weapon instead of doubling the attack power of a short stick that hits enemies only when we are right into their faces, not that most enemies do anything more interesting than just going back and forth. The main collectible are 99 orbs that do nothing except for shave off some bars from bosses' life span, which feels almost like a joke. There's some cute pixel art and nice chiptunes but, after the initial positive impression, they don't do much to make the game less annoying. Luckily, the pseudo-sequel Alwa's Legacy addresses most of these problems and comes off much better as a result.
I love this game I will definitely play a third Alwa game if the developer decides to make it
At best, it is OK. But way too many instant deaths - not even difficult but gets really annoying
Bom metroidvania de 8 bits!
Un bon petit jeu indépendant à l'ancienne qui combine habilement metroidvania et puzzle. Pas parfait, certes, mais assez fun et suffisamment exigeant.
Mixed feelings. It's neither bad nor too good. It's good that it has an easy mode for casual gamers. 7/10
First thing Zoe does with a magic staff is not cast spells, but bludgeon enemies to death... A very good metroidvania, but be prepared for NES-like difficulty, hidden walls and a fairly slow pace, though it doesn't take long to 100% overall. Don't be afraid to use a guide if you have to but despite that It has a lot of "show, don't tell" design and a few clever moments. The controls are very responsive and simple enough you might even figure out some speedrunning techs on your own. The music is great too.
