Aliens: Colonial Marines Collection

This game deserved more love/appreciation than the hate that it got.

Just a bad time, even with the overhaul mod installed. Difficulty not balanced to single player. Game actually looks quite nice but not worth the faf of actually playing, beyond redemption.

First of all, this is a fun game. I enjoyed playing it. It is by no means a AAA Game. It COULD be a fun, solid Double A Game, like Robocop Rouge City or Terminator Resistance. The big problem the game has, is it's reputation. A mere typo disabled the AI, there made it a unplayable mess when it came out. That being said, Anyone can easy google how to fix the typo and make this game playable. I strongly advise against any fanpatches or "Overhauls" at least at first campaign playthrough. The Story is a loveletter to the movie ALIENS, ignoring any metaphysical philosophy that infested the franchise since part 3. I really like the voiceactors, it is great to walk through the story side by side with Mr. Willingham (Critical Role's Grog). There are some bumps in the games balancing, as well as a very RNG-like Boss Battle against a big Xeno. BUT it is manageable. All in all, I like the game and please, if you enjoyed the movie Aliens or the Marine Campaigns in the AVP games, please give this one a try.

Именно поэтому мне стало интересно не почему она плохая, а насколько — если играть в неё сейчас, а не в 2013 году. И вот парадокс: игра начинается как нормальный шутер. Каноничные декорации, музыка из фильмов, знакомое оружие, морпехи, которые говорят ровно так, как ты ожидаешь. Видны амбиции — кооператив, прокачка, кастомизация оружия, разные типы миссий. Всё это будто намекает, что игру планировали, а не просто склеили. Да, стрельба кривая, ИИ тупит, техника разваливается на ходу, а баланс живёт своей жизнью. Но если принять её такой, какая она есть, Colonial Marines внезапно начинает развлекать. Линейные миссии постоянно меняют условия, дают новые ситуации и создают тот самый «олдскульный» игровой ритм начала 2010-х. Это плохая игра. Age has not done this game any favours its just as bad as I remember. If your looking for a Alien related blast form the past I would recoment Aliens VS Predator 2010 over this it nails what this game fails to do.

Even with the alien A.I. typo fixed, the game still sucks. Save yourself the money and the pain. Update: After finishing the game with the help of the Overhaul mod, I can confirm the game still sucks. Unless you're a masochistic idiot like me, avoid this one.
