Alien Breed: Impact

It's a great game!

Alien Breed: Impact is not just a port of the original titles for the Amiga32, but a graphically lush remake. While it preserves the same plot, levels and game elements of the original, it runs spectacularly on a Steam Deck and was developed by the original Team17 who produced the Amiga version. Top-down shooter, with twin-stick controls for movement and aiming, and a moody atmospheric graphics and sound that installs a genuine sense of horror and dread. It’s definitely great for those with an interest in the Alien franchise (though this may not be canonical, or explicitly labelled a movie tie in, these are the Xenomorphs you know and love, along with some variations). Stuck about a heavily damaged ship, you’re all alone as you fight to make it through to what remains of the surviving crew. The gameplay is very challenging and satisfying, but full disclosure - I had to reload many times after getting slaughtered. I absolutely love it, and on the basis of my gameplay purchased the remaining Alien Breed titles. It runs awesome on Steam Deck hardware, and if you’re playing it on PC then it runs best with a controller. Highly recommend this, and checking out other Team17 titles, They’re legends.
