Alan Wake

Felt like an idiot when I realized you had to hold the flashlight on the enemies instead of just touching them with it. Really good psych horror game and story.

Alan Wake is an immersive game that puts you in the center of an American town on the Pacific West Coast. The plot is extraordinary, though you can anticipate some moments. The gameplay is interesting and includes eliminating foes with a flashlight. I find it disturbing and curious at the same time. A pretty eccentric choice of mini-bosses includes an excavator and a combine harvester for some reason. It was also entertaining to watch your allies (for instance, Sarah Breaker) annihilate hordes of enemies with an infinite supply of ammunition, while you have absolutely nothing. Sometimes you may find it quite challenging to gun down enemies, so you get used to running for your life to the nearest light spot. Frankly, from time to time, fighting foes can be really exhausting and devastating. Occasionally, you might notice that the game repeats itself in some moments if you analyze the patterns. I want to add that finding and reading manuscripts wasn't my main goal, I’m not going to lie, but sometimes I stumbled over spoilers in those sheets. So it wasn’t my priority. Anyway, the game provides a thrilling atmosphere, picturesque sights of local landscapes and nature, rather engaging dialogues, and a great soundtrack. I surely recommend it.

Es un gran juego, y más para su época. Es lineal, tiene ambientaciones muy bonitas, adecuadas para su estilo y muy bien acompañadas por la banda sonora. Lo que más sobresale es la parte narrativa; me parece una gran historia y, al final, entiendo que es algo interpretativo. Lo recomiendo mucho. Es entretenido, está hecho para jugarse como si vieras una serie por capítulos: 6 capítulos principales, +2 especiales que también recomiendo jugar, ya que estos sobresalen en su ambientación y diseño.
