The game looks cool and I’ve been wanting to play it for a long time, but after opening the input settings menu, I felt like giving up just four minutes in; I refuse to play with any of those input presets—they are bizarre and intimidating, truly one of the worst atrocities I’ve ever seen in an input settings menu. There is absolutely no regard for ergonomics. Just look at the available presets and imagine how you’d position your fingers for them:
PRESET 1
↑ — W ↓ — S ← — A → — D ATTACK — J JUMP — K EARTH/WATER/FIRE — L AIR — P SUBSCREEN — SPACE J, K, L, P? Seriously!? P is just awful; you’d have to move your right ring finger in the most awkward way imaginable just to press it every time.
PRESET 2
↑ — Z ↓ — S ← — Q → — D ATTACK — J JUMP — K EARTH/WATER/FIRE — L AIR — P SUBSCREEN — SPACE ZSQD? Is this an attempt to destroy my left hand? Or is it just the previous preset adapted for the (AZERTY) layout? They really should have just made the keyboard controls fully customizable; this preset suffers from the same problems as the last one, too.
PRESET 3
↑ — ↑ ↓ — ↓ ← — ← → — → ATTACK — J JUMP — H EARTH/WATER/FIRE — G AIR — T SUBSCREEN — SPACE G, H, J is weird, even if it doesn't wreck your fingers... but T!? Not F, not Y—T!? Why do the controls consistently require you to either overextend your ring finger or have the longest pinky in the world? With such terrible ergonomics, I don't think the keyboard controls were tested enough. It could all be fixed by allowing custom keybindings, but so long after launch, it’s highly unlikely to happen. I wouldn't recommend the game for this reason, even though it looks good—and I don't want to hear "just use a controller."

Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.71/day in the week to Jul 30 → 0.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Controls are bonkers. That one woodpecker challenge area, I can get past all of the prior ones with ease but the physics and QOL is ♥♥♥♥ for this one room. You'll know which room. If only there was no damage so I can keep trying endlessly, and a way to reset the room without that tedious walk back to the previous room. I like the game overall, except that one room. Dealbreaker. Edit: I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hate the difficulty spikes. You'd think you'd be comfortable with your current strength after a boss, then suddenly, bam, your face against a wall.
I just finished the game, and I love it. Reminiscent of games like Zelda 2 and Wonder Boy, it's very fun. I understand why it's not rated higher. It tries to deliver so many styles of play that you'll find something to hate, and it won't be optional. Pros: Doesn't overstay its welcome, pretty short to finish. Challenging boss mechanics and platforming, every choice in how you play the game matters. Overall, 8/10 overall fun. Cons: Grinding is a bit of a slog, either for money or exp. The story is very poorly developed. The hardest platforming sections require nearly pixel perfection. The worst of these are optional, but there are still some very tough ones to get to the last boss.
Aggelos was fun. But man, I wasn't expecting this game to be this hard! Maybe because I haven't played any of the Wonderboy games (except Adventure Island for NES, a game I never completed as a child) which is what this game is inspired by. When I saw it's gameplay on YouTube, I expected a short, breezy Metroidvania. Boy, was I wrong. The game starts pretty simple, but gets much harder after each boss. After the third boss, even regular enemies became difficult to handle. The final boss is especially hard, but still doable if you have maxed out everything and unlocked the charged attack. But the biggest challenge in the game wasn't any of the bosses. It was the woodpecker challenge. Especially the fourth room. I have never struggled with a platforming section this much in my life! This section surely questioned my gaming skills. For reference, I completed this game with everything unlocked, in 12 hours. 3 hours of this was just because of the Woodpecker trials. That's how hard it was for me. I almost gave up on this game because of this section. But after lots of practice, trial and error, I completed this section! It felt satisfying and it was definitely the "I'm still worthy" moment for me. Overall, it's a good, fun Metroidvania. But be aware that it can be a bit difficult. If you are not used to platformers, this could be a tough one. (Btw, if anyone is skipping this game because of what I said about the Woodpecker Trials : It's an optional area and the reward for completing it is a pretty useless move that you probably don't need anyway. I only completed it because I am a completionist.)
One of the best Metroidvania games i ever play! i love it! Sadly, the steam version does sucks. it have long loading times between levels. It's not a high demand game by any sense but it buggy and not well implement for PC. Get the switch version if you have the chance. i do recommend this game a lot but not for PC.
Um ótimo jogo de plataforma de ação com bastante exploração. A primeira metade do jogo é ok mas depois a curva de dificuldade sobe bastante...! Fãs de jogos estilo "Wonderboy" vão adorar. Recomendadíssimo!
It's not bad, it's just very mediocre and doesn't have basic qol like rebinding keys, window size multiplication or decent frame pacing. No matter what you do, the framerate jumps around a lot, even entirely skipping frames. Not just "oh it was only there for a moment", but outright "that frame just didn't appear at any time". the enemy patterns are all very rough and break game design fundamentals, like random movements that exceed your attack radius/safe distance control, and you aren't given the appropriate kit to reliably avoid damage. the environment design is very basic and function-first, but also not very functional to navigate. It gets very slow going from place to place very early on, and the slippery movement and blind jumps make it easy to miss your target and get set back, wasting more time. it pretends to be a search-action, but the hints are very straightforward, there's very little to explore so far, and the game has been completely linear in terms of progress. there's no save point in the second dungeon, and the only savepoint nearby is likely to be missed until you exit out of the dungeon. Combine that with a long treck from the nearest savepoint to said dungeon, and it's just needless timewasting. Similarly, a lot of other aspects of the game seem to want to slow you down. music isn't offensive, but also isn't that good. same with the graphics and sound. It's all very "this is good enough right? have I met the quota yet?" The writing so far has been downright bad; I don't expect a deep plot, but if you're going to have a shallow get-the-mcguffin-to-save-the-day plot, get the text out of the way already. It doens't matter that "someone wouldn't really say that" because nobody cares about these characters or this story. The game has an awkwardly long blank when opening the menu as if to mimic bank switching or high-dpi rendering in cartidge games, but it's just kind of awkward and wastes more time. It might be worth it if you've run out of better games to play and are desperate for something search-action dressed without any real search in it. It might be worth it for $2. I would recommend aiming for less unless you're desperate. MSRP is out to lunch on this one. There's just so many better games out there nowadays.
Fxxk this game and its developer. You think you're a fan of the Wonder Boy series? Which Wonder Boy game is as trash and torturous as the piece of ♥♥♥♥ you made!
No cloud save. Goodbye, 11 hours of play, I guess.
I didn't really like this game much, but I'm giving it a recommendation to retro metroidvania fans as the game is competently made and has a decent amount of content. The music is mostly sub-par, with a few decent sounding tracks in there. The visuals are crisp and clean, very reminiscent of the Master System. The progression is linear as is the case with most action-adventure games, you mostly won't be getting lost as there is a fortune teller that will give you hints on what to do next. The first 70% of the game is very easy. But after the 3rd major dungeon, difficulty does ramp up considerably. The ice area is particularly brutal, though it isn't very long. And the 4th dungeon is a little tricky to deal with at first. Some of these later areas like the sky zone are full to the brim with flying enemies that shoot projectiles, and you simply don't have the movement capabilities to dodge everything, and your short range attack doesn't handle these enemies well, so it can get a bit frustrating. Your magic capabilities are very limited, with just a few shots and it deals little damage, so you will be relying on your very basic attacks the entire game. The lack of variable height jumping hurts the feel of the game and makes dodging even more difficult. The additional attacks you learn later on serve little purpose in combat, often getting you hurt if you try to use them. It really serves as nothing more than progression gating, and giving you a very small double jump of sorts. That trial for getting the 3rd combat move is extremely difficult. In the later section of it with the birds you have to bounce on, I found to be WAY too challenging to complete with the game's default controls which is LEFT STICK ONLY for movement (use Steam Input to map to D-pad). The timing for these jumps and bounces and air slashes is extremely tight, one frame too late and you will get hit by a bird and drop all the way down this massive tower. It is insanely tedious, but at least it's optional. You do get a dash ability later but you can't use your magic in that trial so good luck. Anyway, the game is okay. It mostly felt a bit too bland and uninteresting to me, so I couldn't get deeply invested in it. The lackluster music is always a huge buzzkill for me. The graphics are serviceable but nothing impressive, slightly charming I'd say. The level design is adequate, but not exciting in anyway. Enemy design is basic, combat is very retro, so expect to get touched by large enemy hit boxes a lot that deals too much damage and knocks you back a mile. Overall it's fine but unoriginal. If you really dig these types of games, get it on sale, it'll keep ya busy for a bit. But for everyone else, maybe skip this one. There's not really much to miss here. 5/10
