Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 13 → 0.71/day in the week after.
Too few observations to say whether a discount moves this store's chart at all: across the last 30 days Steam · Top Sellers · Poland has just 17 day-to-day chart moves that followed a price cut, against 2,502 that did not. We are publishing the count instead of a direction — 20 is the fewest we will draw a conclusion from, and price collection outside the United States began on 6 August 2026.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Even after the release of Age of Wonders 4 I cannot stop going back to this game. The focus on ranged combat, the units modding system and the galactic empire mode are the strong points of this game that AoW4 renounced to inherit. I thought that the tome system, that granted full culture customization, was *the thing* that couldn't be surpassed: the extreme modularization of the builds. While this is probably true, I found that... I don't need an infinite number of builds with parts that don't really interlock; while Planetfall has less possible builds all of them are really well defined, and they all give a different playstyle. Plus for the old gamers: the SMAC vibes here are very strong. You won't feel like playing SMAC again, but it's close enough to make you smile while reading the technology quotes :-)

Matched by title — a reused name can pair the wrong games. * is a critic aggregate. Prices and positions are each store's United States storefront; Epic charts worldwide. Audience and Score too, except Steam's, which is worldwide.

100%
a pity for the age of wonders genre

Paradox has finally found a way to make Hearts of Iron IV historically accurate! They're rewriting history in real time! On their official HOI4 Discord a player was permanently banned for having Mustafa Kemal Atatürk as a profile picture. The moderators' explanation was that Atatürk is a "controversial and polarizing figure" just like Karl Marx. Let's make sure we understand this. This is a game where you can spend 400 hours bringing back the Kaiser, making Kaiserreich style fever dreams real and marching fascist Europe across the map. That same company thinks the man who founded a secular republic, gave women the vote years before half of Europe did and said "Peace at home, peace in the world" is too spicy for a Discord avatar. When Turkish players politely asked what was going on their messages were deleted and the people asking were banned. Then the server was locked to new members. That was their whole response to a question. Delete it, ban whoever asked and shut the door. The historical figures in their own game ran better propaganda departments than this. It gets even funnier. Atatürk is in the game. Paradox is happy to sell you his portrait inside a $50 DLC but if you use the same portrait outside the store you get the banhammer. Apparently he's only controversial when he isn't making them money. As of writing there's no statement and no apology. Silence is the only thing Paradox ships on time and there's no DLC for accountability. So here's my contribution to the discourse: No DLC. No Season Pass. No "Expansion Pass 3: The Moderators Strike Back." Paradox, you made a grand strategy game and then lost the diplomacy tree yourselves. 0/10. Would not justify my wishlist to this company again. Atatürk isn't controversial. Your moderation is. 🇹🇷
He is the founding leader of a nation and a homeland Learn history before making history games! A racist company.

If you're considering buying this game, don't. The developers randomly decided to insult your culture and the things you respect. I have zero respect for this company or their game
