Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 6.14/day in the week to Aug 14 → 6.14/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 23 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 14 places towards #1, and the 2,515 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

One of my favourite games of all time, so many stories to tell, it tickles that spot in your imagination. For future DLCs I hope they focus more on deepening what they already have rather than going wide (continuing to add random animal forms that no one cares about). Make it richer! Not diluted.
New patch crashes game constantly. Can't even start a new race.
I wanted to like this and leave a good review... but here I am with a thumbs down. The problem? The game is just blatantly boring. The best way to explain this game is that it has elements of the "Total Warhammer" and "Civilization" series. It very much resembles Total Warhammer the most - with how their is little diplomacy and city management is minimal. The layout is pretty close to TW, and even how you move characters on a map to load into a separate battle screen is more or less the same. (The battle is turn based hex-grid instead of Real Time like WH, definitely easier for new players as learning WH RTS can be a little steep at first). One could describe this as a more casual Total Warhammer. My Gripes: 1. Combat is just boring. I like turn based combat, but somehow combat on AoW4 is mentally unstimulating. All units move on a hex, and have a bread and butter basic attack they'll use after moving. If they get into a good position, most characters have a "Full round attack" they can use if they haven't moved, usually a more powerful attack themed towards their unit type. Some units have special moves and abilities with cool downs. This all seems alright so far. But when it comes down to it, all abilities just seem lack-luster. In the end, you're just clicking the ability and clicking the enemy. Usually just doing damage, sometimes debuffing or buffing. 2. I only did one run so far. Chose dwarves. The unit roster was EXTREMELY small. I had melee unites tier 1-3. A dwarven crossbowman. And a support unit. That's it. I found units from other factions I could add (found some spiders that joined me) but without that I was really just left with Melee, Ranged, Enchanter support as my only 3 options of units? Surely I'll unlock some type of calvary and other units after hours of playing. 3. City management has very little thought or strategy to it. Build where you want, as there's not many resources on the map to really fight over. Yea there's an occasional extra mana node or wonder (That usually takes too much time to make use, so your better off just planting a city sooner), but really just plop your city wherever you want, . Building buildings inside a city? Don't think too much about it, really... It's your basic balance food/production/gold. Need to grow faster? Build farms. Not building things fast enough? Build production buildings. That's the extent of your decision making. Other than that, the buildings will just cascade down and you'll eventually build everything from a previous city tier in 1-2 turns. The buildings aren't unique enough to offer much strategic depth besides just more of the resource you want. 4. I don't like the research trees. One research is for magic, every time you're done with one magical research you get to choose 1 of 3 new choices. I imagine there's a hidden tech tree as there usually is with these type of research systems. Then there's the "empire" tech tree. My gripe with this, is that there's not an apparent way to speed this up besides maybe leveling your heroes as fast as possible to get more tomes? Idk, I haven't put enough time into it. The techs in the tech trees should be something I'm looking forward to and strategizing my run around in most 4x strat games, instead it's just random spells and a slow progressing civic tech tree you can hardly influence. Really, imho, there's nothing wrong with the game. It's just BORING. I would get more satisfaction out of a CIV game when it comes to empire building, and the combat is just flat. The armies and characters don't deliver on the high fantasy you would expect, possibly due to everything just feeling more or less the same regardless of who I was fighting against. I'd rather play the Warhammer series for high fantasy and combat.
Civ but better
