Prices
Each in the currency that store quoted — not converted: the gap between two rows is the publisher's pricing, not an exchange rate.
Charts
Each storefront's own chart, in its own country — the closest public signal to sales where none is published. A country missing from a list is one we don't collect there, not one where the game doesn't chart.
No United States chart position — it charts only in the markets below.
Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.43/day in the week to Aug 23 → 14.29/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 24 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,404 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
You are the Viceroy – a leader charged by the Scorched Queen to reclaim the wilderness and discover lost riches for the Smoldering City, civilization's last bastion against the Blightstorm that destroyed the old world. Unlike most survival city builders where your focus is on a single city, in Against the Storm you must build a vast, prosperous network of settlements populated by diverse fantasy races, each with their own specializations and needs.
The wilderness holds many hidden dangers, and never-ending storms will batter your population into submission. If your settlements should fall, then the expedition may end – but not the game. Against the Storm is a roguelite city builder, meaning you will carry forward the resources, upgrades, and experience of your past expeditions each time you set off for a new journey into the wild.

Foxes, beavers, and lizards stand alongside humans and harpies in the struggle to survive. Utilize each group's strengths as you balance their varying needs, from housing and culinary preferences to taste in luxuries and recreation. Will you manufacture raincoats, brew ale, and bake pies to boost morale in the face of the oppressive hostility of the forest, or will you prioritize the needs of one species over another to operate more swiftly for the Scorched Queen?

Experience core city builder gameplay enhanced by roguelite replayability. Build and manage multiple settlements spread out across a large world map, all while collecting valuable meta-progression resources to upgrade the Smoldering City. Feel the pressure of an expectant monarch as the Scorched Queen demands constant progress while recurring Blightstorms pose an inevitable threat to your settlements. Manage your reputation to secure your success at any one settlement before moving on to establish another, constantly seeking new opportunities for growth, taking on unique challenges across multiple biomes, and bracing for the inevitable destruction of everything but the Smoldering City itself. How will you maximize each cycle to not just ensure the best fate for the Smoldering City, but for your career as Viceroy as well?

With hundreds of gameplay modifiers and 6 distinct biomes, every city location presents unique challenges for even the most resourceful Viceroy. Adjust your strategy to changing weather conditions and experiment with rosters of building blueprints and perks that can help your society thrive or bring it to ruin. Will you take on and complete additional objectives and delve deeper into the dangerous forest for potential boons, or will you approach with caution to ensure you operate within your capabilities? All the while, you never know what wares the Trader will bring next year, and the forest holds treasures and resources, but also ancient threats.

Laying the foundations for a new city is one of the most exciting moments in a city-building game. In Against the Storm, you'll have the opportunity to repeatedly experience this by creating new settlements, while still interacting with your network of previously established cities in a growing world.

Against the Storm? More like Against My Patience.Every run feels like the first hour of a free-to-play mobile game. You’re constantly waiting for buildings to finish, trees to be cut down, and new villagers to show up just so you can move forward. It’s one bottleneck after another, and the moment you finally get past them, the next run forces you to start the exact same grind all over again. That kind of slow, repetitive start could work if the game let you keep your progress and build something lasting — a big, permanent city you could feel proud of, like in Dungeons, Cities: Skylines, or Anno. Instead, you just keep replaying the same boring early game over and over. It reminds me of StarCraft in that sense (I know they’re completely different games, but anyone who’s played it will understand). The difference is that StarCraft has rush strategies, intense combat, and a satisfying late game that make the early game worth sitting through. Against the Storm has none of that. There’s nothing to keep you awake during the first 20 minutes of every run, and no rewarding endgame to aim for either. The game is basically designed like a roguelite for people with base-building autism. It’s not a bad game exactly — but you either need to be a very specific type of person, or the kind of Candy Crush mom who plays FarmVille at work, to actually enjoy it.

Terrible tutorial. Manages to not teach anything while not allowing for any actions for an extended period.
Against the Storm is so good that the best thing I can say is how disappointed I was when I started to realize I was plateauing or couldn't find out anything new. I got a lot out of it, and wanted to play it constantly from the moment I started. It's so immersive, so cozy, but also challenging enough to require a lot of skill and focus. I loved everything about its roguelike elements that made each little venture different, and the game felt simply enormous to start out. Best of all, the UI is probably the BEST I've ever seen in a city simulator or any kind of strategy game. It easy to understand, to find new things, and to teach yourself. When I found out that DLC was available to expand my options, I instantly bought it after getting a taste of just the base game. Set in a unique world that's all built around the concept of rainfall, you're tasked with exploring a procedurally generated wilderness with various terrains in the pursuit of completing a level they call a "seal." After doing so, you can play on these maps for longer and on higher difficulties before they rewrite themselves--all while steadily unlocking new buildings, races, and perks. As you learn the game, you're constantly finding new content in challenging events, the use of those optional perks, and given assignments to complete. Since you can pause and manipulate things as you like, it lets you be patient and make intelligent choices to protect your little settlements and ensure their survival. The graphics and artstyle look phenomenal, and the interesting technology and building options kept my interest for a long time. No two settlements are the same, and it encourages you to constantly try new ones (which is one of my favourite things, as compared to spending 20+ hours on one city). As the difficulty ramps up, you have more options but it can be severe. By the end of my interest, I was playing on Prestige 6 out of 20, and I just found that I was having so much trouble it had lost the relaxing vibes and I was starting to feel a little pigeon-holed into "metagaming" it, rather than using my creativity. That isn't to say someone else couldn't find a good blend of both, but I think this is one of the best games where you just free-form play, and don't focus as much on trying to meet the "point" of Seals. I just wish there was more ways to keep me engaged and having fun on those lower difficulties where I was able to engage my imagination, without having to feel the enormous struggle on the prestige difficulties. It's one of those games I would love to be able to erase my memory of, and try again. Especially as permanent upgrades are most interesting near the start, but it can take so long to finish the "tech-tree" that by the end, it feels like you aren't unlocking anything significant. This was one of my favourite games of the year, and one of the best city-builders I've seen; I hope that one day I'll be in the spirit to return to it and renew that hope it inspired during my first week of nonstop play.
Surprisingly addicting! It's a bit overwhelming for someone (like me) who doesn't play city builders but once it clicks its really rewarding.
I bought this game on sale but it is absolutely worth full price. It is a roguelite unlike most others in that Against The Storm generally speaking wants you to win and have a successful settlement. This was one of my first base building games and I absolutely loved it. The meta progression is good and there are multiple ways to have a successful run to please the Scorched Queen.
Great worker placement / resource management game where every second/decision counts, especially at the start of rounds. But you can pause whenever you want and change stuff paused making it very strategical and not stressfull but exciting. I wish more (singleplayer) "RTS" would do this. Also great mysterious background "story" with animal people, rain, forest and the storm cycles, giving it a nice atmosphere. Though sadly not much is reaveled during the game and you can't learn more with the runs or finishing cycles. Also the finished settlements dont affect further runs much sadly and will be wiped after a cycle. You get unlocks after each settlement that are great at the beginning but later will be mostly bonuses and thus the rounds get more and more repetetive and feel less rewarding. Because you always have multiple options for food, building materials etc and multiple buildings that produce them this also makes it less diverse even with different bioms. I think less options and bigger differences between the bioms, not just cosmetics, would make the "late game" feel more varied and rewarding. The way it is you will slowly lose interest in doing more runs long before you "finish" the game or get to a meaningful conclusion. But for the first dozen of runs when your still discovering and have meaningful unlocks its fun and worth the price (and time).
