For now its's... ok. But I prefer Tempus.
After You is an interesting game that has a story about waking up with no one around. Pros: The puzzles are fairly instinctual Found the difficulty for the puzzles a good mix-and match I actually really like some of the graphic choices they made Cons: Relies on notes for most of the storytelling Some approaches in regard to mental health and addiction are not handled super well (Trigger warning BTW) We move way to dang slow I will say I definitely enjoyed it and look forward to finishing it and giving it 7/10 Number pads.
After You Positives: + Ok idea + Good retro graphics + Nicely designed levels + Good sound and music + Nice atmosphere + Run and jump function + Ok story + Ok voiceacting Negatives: - Too many codes to break (little variation) - Some puzzles are very hard to understand - You will most likely need a guide to get pasted some puzzles - No hint system - When puzzles repeat themselves (shadow/lightning) - You'll most likely end up walking back and forth may times without knowing what to look for - No save games - Some framerate issues - Invisible walls - Cant disable head bob - Very slow walking speed - A bit sluggish feeling controls - Can get very frustrating because of the above Well its true what they say, this is definitely no easy game. Some puzzles are very hard. I think the developer should have implented a hint system and a save game function. That would have made this game way less frustrating and way more fun. Or make an easy and hard difficulty so people can decide for themselves on what to choose. Im not a big fan of games were you are stuck in one place for hours, because you have missed a very hard to see solution for a puzzle. Thats not my definition of fun time usage. But do I reccommend this game? Well... If you dont like very hard puzzles and like to get to the next step fast, this is not your game at all. But if you dont mind that and you are looking for a real challenge, look no further. Its hard to give a score to this game, but I ended up with 5 out of 10, because I think its a halfway decent game. If you like the style of it, you can play the newer game created by this developer called Tempus. I think its a lot better than this one. Total Score: 5/10
most of the puzzles are super nonsensical and dont make any realistic sense. like, the safe combination in the murderscene house is order of killed people combined with how many pieces they were cut into. the safe owner surely didnt use that combination, but its the solution to it anyway. and the rest are pretty much just as mindblowingly weird. i quit at chapter 2. if nonsensical puzzle solutions are something you enjoy, then this is a game for you.
