In After You you need to put all your attention and use paper and pencil to move forward, if you're looking for an easy game, this is not your game.

it's a game. I'd describe it as a narrative game with some puzzles but even then it seems that the narrative is an excuse for a game. While the story is well planned in its reveal, the conclusion makes it feel wasted. The puzzles are plenty obtuse but they feel more like a test of your ability to intuit puzzle design rather than proper puzzles. Curiosity pays more than just attentiveness and although absent details are as important as those present, many solutions unsatisfyingly feel like guesswork. The store description also recommends taking notes but your mileage may vary. On an unrelated note, while the large sets feel as if they are believable locations, they are too large with too little to do and unnecessarily cluttered for a game that asks for your full attention. It's not a terrible game, it's fairly polished, but it's not a great game and I feel like the Steam reviews regard it too highly, rating it very positive as of this review.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Maybe the story is great maybe is not, but I'm too angry at this game for finding positive thing to say. I don't know what is this game time a kind of puzzle/escape game? A mystery or a horror? All I think is that the character is dead (I didn't finish chapter 2 at this point, it's 2/3 of the game anyway) The story is plain, "one guys are bad because he is rich and he can be like this because the other is poor?", every character are not happy so they drink? A guy is displaying as crazy but with no other personality. There is no relief, the note is the story and its fade you can't have the tags "story rich" with five pages each chapter with this quality. I can't even explain and understand how code are found most of the solos found are on video and no explanation. Ah yeah, like this this game can be difficult when you found no logic at a solution. There no hints of what to do, where or else. I open a door by touching chamber door, another by touching a pipe. And the last nail in the coffin is still the control whoever it's in keyboard or controller it's ♥♥♥♥.
As a puzzle game enthusiast, I'm not a fan. Let alone the funny PC controls and the poor translations, the story is a little disjointed and peters out. Boasting such a difficulty in the synopsis, I expected it to at least compete with mc2games content. It didn't. The puzzles are fundamentally the same. The only reason it recorded 5.8 hours of play was for two reasons: 1) I literally fell asleep during the first chapter and 2) The no save feature (which is absolutely the worst idea for a casual puzzle game. This isn't Dark Souls or Destiny). Meaning I left the game running while I did other things. It would have been way less disappointing if the creators hadn't set the difficulty expectation so high.
After You is a narrative game with puzzles, but it is not an easy game, here you will not have indicators or tutorials, nor can you save when you want. A Mixed Experience for Puzzle Enthusiasts The game markets itself as a challenging puzzle adventure for seasoned thinkers, raising high expectations. Unfortunately, it only partially lives up to this promise. As an experienced puzzle fan, I found the game entertaining overall, but it left me with mixed feelings. The Positives: Entertaining puzzles: Some of the puzzles were creative and provided a short burst of fun. For beginners, this could be a good introduction to the world of puzzle games. Aesthetic and atmosphere: The visual design and immersive environment were solidly executed. The Drawbacks: Too short: The game is overall quite short, leaving it feeling unfinished. For players hoping for a longer and more in-depth experience, this is disappointing. No save function: The lack of a save feature is a glaring design flaw. In a puzzle game where you might want to take breaks or think things through, this omission becomes frustrating. Unclear puzzles: Some puzzles, like the one with the three "X"s, were overly ambiguous or unnecessarily simplistic. The solutions were often so basic that seasoned puzzle fans tended to overthink them. This mismatch between expectations and execution is frustrating, especially when the game advertises itself as requiring you to "note down everything" and promises to be difficult. Fragmented narrative: The storyline felt disjointed, with the different episodes lacking a clear connection. Rather than presenting a cohesive narrative, the game seemed to jump from one unrelated scene to the next, which diminished immersion and made the overall experience feel less satisfying. Misleading advertising: The promotion of the game as "not easy" misleads experienced players. The difficulty comes more from unclear or vague hints rather than the depth or complexity of the puzzles. Conclusion: The game is decent but falls short of being truly satisfying. It offers some nice ideas but fails to deliver a fulfilling experience for seasoned players. The lack of a save function, its brevity, unclear puzzles, and fragmented story detract significantly from the overall experience. For newcomers to the puzzle genre, it might be worth a try, but for hardcore puzzle fans, it will likely be a disappointment. Rating: 3/5 stars Experienced players would appreciate more depth, a cohesive story, clarity in puzzle design, and a smoother gameplay experience – perhaps in a future version.
Reseña de After You

This is a first person exploration/puzzle game that was created by a single person. Having the latter in mind, I can't be too harsh with it. The puzzle style may not be everyone's cup of tea and the dev's description ("pen and pencil") might not be entirely accurate, but it still is quite accurate concerning one thing: It is quite a difficult game, at least until you figure out how the majority of the puzzles work. Game length depends on the time you will need to figure things out, but it should at least be a couple hours or more. On we go with the pros and cons:
PROS
- The puzzles mostly are difficult, as advertised - For the vast majority of the puzzles there are hints in the form of notes (that also help understand the story), that are helpful without outright giving the answers on your plate. Apart from notes, there are also other types of hints like numeric codes and photographs - Storywise it's an interesting mystery with a twist that
although unoriginal and a bit ridiculous
does explain certain things
(like why there's isn't anyone else around except for the main character)
- Sense of abandonment (in general) and creepiness (almost solely on Chapter 2) make for a good atmosphere - Graphics are passable and can be twitched to suit your preferences - Character movement is smooth - Environment and puzzle variety through three different chapters - There is voice acting for the main character, some cutscenes and the final sequence of the game, plus subtitles for anything that's being said - English text translation is very good, apart from a few mistakes here and there
CONS
- Game's buggy in certain sequences, mainly when interacting with keypads (sometimes -but not often- they get stuck on your screen when you try to return to the game) and when grabbing objects (Chapter 3). The latter was the biggest problem for me, because the objects you grab twist around uncontrollably when you move and can be stuck/lost, so you have to go grab something else and start over. Once an object I was carrying disappeared, then appeared right when I had to drop it, and the character ended up stuck inside a wall, unable to move. Had to reload the chapter. - Some puzzles are difficult for the wrong reason: Instead of requiring deductions, calculations etc., some of them are just very obscure. My main gripe concerns one particular progress point (it's not even a puzzle, just something you must do in order to open a door) in Chapter 2, where there is absolutely no hint on what to do, what you should look for and why you should look for it. Twas one of two instances where I had to use a guide because I was frustrated and grew impatient. - The puzzle difficulty is random, meaning they don't start easy and then get harder as you move on. For example, the very first puzzle of the game -which in hindsight is both obvious and ingenious at the same time- can get you stuck for hours in the very first area of the game (there's at least one player who spent 13+ hours on Chapter 1 because he refused to use a guide) - Chapter 3 feels disjointed and kind of unrelated to the first two chapters regarding both the story and the game mood up until that point - The voice acting during the end cutscene is really bad
VERDICT
Like I said in the beginning, this game is the love child of a single individual, so I can't be too tough on it. Considering that... - it was made by one person - there's at least a few hours of playing time - and that the game is almost always on sale, meaning you can get it for a couple bucks... it's a decent puzzle game that you should get if you're into atmospheric puzzle games that aren't a breeze in the difficulty department. I'm honestly looking forward to new, improved efforts from this dev.
