If you enjoy smacking things around in space, This game is for you!
Control scheme aged like milk. You got strong VR legs? This game tells you to hold it’s oxygen tank. Who thought locking your view in VR to the dumb oxygen tank was a good idea? Yes, this annoying, vomit inducing oxygen tank that you do not need? Oh, now this other one, turning you in another direction. And yet another. And one more.. after you stabilized from this nausea inducing experience, you realize that Now you have to use oxygen tank. So you turn around and.. The space station design is insanely idiotic, created by people who's knowledge about space is limited to watching movie «Gravity» half way. Because space is teeny-tiny and you fly away if you let go of the rope. 1) There is about 3% of solar panels that you actually need for the station like that. 2) Solar panels are always half in shadow behind some ring. Because you can not put it on this ring, or forward toward the star. 3) There is about zero radiators. Because you can keep all the heat you get from the star and not melt, evidently. 4) What does this space station do? Corridors! A billion of empty corridors, because space station is about moving things around. To keep it more empty, there is no railings in the corridors. How do people navigate it non EVA? 5) How do you make a junction of corridors on a space station, so nobody gets lost? Tree! Put a tree with blossoms and pollinate everyone onboard, because this is Fun. And make all the corridors in the junction look identical, so people get lost more and visit the tree more. Because Fun you! That’s why! Kerbals cry when they see all this empty space and no goo anywhere. This game can be somewhat redeemed by one liner “The hangover is killing me. I went to buy milk!”. And it would somewhat explain insane amounts of nausea.
not compatible with modern vr sets still playable tho tragic considering how beautiful the game is in gameplay footage
Hell nah. The game looks and sounds awesome and seems like a lot of fun but that quicly changes. Your oxygen continuously depletes (which makes sense because you, well, breathe) but your thrusters also require oxigen. So you are contantly on the lookout for oxygen cans (it feels like most of the gameplay is looking for oxygen actually). The movement is also excruciatingly slow, the physics are off (you sometimes drift into random directions, stuff floats away from you randomly). You are also given zero direction on what to do. You wake up in a destroyed space station and that's it. No more information, nada. i constantly got confused between the parts of the space ship because everything looks the same and i had no idea where to go or what to do. When i died from not having enough oxygen and was set back to the start (I think??), i quit. after half an hour the game game me so little/ nothing to work with that there wasn't really any reason to keep playing.
Amazing game, very relaxing and enjoyable.
Pretty boring, all you do is just wander in between boring broken space station parts.
Its a hard pass for me. Sound design, atmosphere, overall design, A+. HUD, and general directions, minus a million. It was fun for about 30 seconds, but the constant feeling of failure and running out of o2 put me off.
One more game I remember seeing gameplay in early development, before I ever knew I would be able to afford VR. Unfortunately, this does not live up to any of my expectations. The graphics are cool and all, but the gameplay is very repetitive and oddly hard. Not in a challenging kind of way, but more frustrating. You are essentially floating around trying to catch your next dose of oxygen, rendering it almost impossible to follow the story.
Good walking simulator for space. Very pretty, just don't go in expecting crazy action or you will be disappointed. If you are feeling unsure then wait for a sale. If you are a space junkie like me tho you will probably love it despite the flaws it has. Hope this review helps!
