The game was very fun and not too difficult as far as rogue-like games go. I liked the fact that the more times you went through, the more starting money and blueprints (for buying starting gear) you collect. That way even failure runs can have some benefit. Obtaining different starting characters was nice too. If you are really struggling with the game - there are guides out with a few tips that make the game much easier (how to find the secret areas and how to save townsfolk to get more starting money). Side Note: The developers for this game were amazing! They worked their hardest to address all concerns and even fixed an achievement glitch long after they stopped working on the game.

An awful Binding of Isaac ripoff.
A really cute roguelike dungeon crawler. I absolutely love the art style of this game. It is not The Binding of Isaac but that's ok! Not every roguelike game has to be challenging to the point where you have to grind countless of hours to succeed. The game is not overly difficult and I would definitely recommend it for more casual players.

A mediocre Isaac-like. While it starts out promising, it very soon shows the lack of variety from run to run and a tendency for spongey enemies throughout.
It is pretty decently fun.
I already am not the biggest fan of Binding of Isaac, so if a game is just a lesser, more boring version of BoI it's already not to my liking. As others have stated: run randomization is sparse, enemy designs are not very fun, and the game is lacking overall. Unlike others I had a bigger problem. The first time I played this game years ago I beat it on my first run. I knew nothing of the game, had no prior knowledge, yet could mindlessly walk right through it all. Yes, there are other characters to unlock and some challenge run type stuff, but that alone made me uninstall. I didn't even feel accomplished, instead feeling that my time was wasted. Trying this again in 2021 didn't feel much different. I simply died due to laziness on my part because I was so bored by the entire thing, but I already know it would take little effort, but too much time, to win another run. Thankfully now a days there are way more/better options for this type of game, you already know what they are.
Collisions are kinda jank, enemy projectiles will fly behind objects so you can't see them coming, there's nothing new after the first few screens and nothing in the gameplay you get to keep you wanting more. I only bought this game because the title, "A Wizard's Lizard", is great, and I really wanted to see what it was like to be a Wizard's Lizard. Turns out, you're basically the same as a bunch of other characters and generally bereft of any personality on your own. What a waste of a good name.
I likely received this game in a Humble Bundle or some similar game package. I see lots of reviews complaining that it isn't The Binding of Isaac. However, I think of it as a much more basic form of The Binding of Isaac for people who find The Binding of Isaac too tough. I love The Binding of Isaac and play it quite frequently and it is definitely my go-to game for a quick bit of fun. A Wizard's Lizard is definitely fun, but also definitely easy. I beat the game on my third run and that took me 2.6 hours total. I had a great time while it lasted though. There isn't much in the way of replay for me, but again, if you are looking for something easier, then maybe there is enough there to warrant some replay. I wouldn't pay a lot for A Wizard's Lizard, but for a couple of bucks or in a game bundle I'd definitely recommend giving it a play.
