Controller highly recommended, keyboard and mouse don't feel good at all. Some technical hiccups, but found answers here on Steam forums - other than that, really enjoyed the game.
As much as I'm not a fan of stealth games this one brought me joy and fun, interesting premice with likable characters albeit with some cluncky movement and controls. The biggest gripe with this game it's is engine wich is wierdly not optimized for gameplay over 200fps, a lot of game braking bugs appear (lantern bug, rat control bug etc.) after all those years Asobo should patch this eons ago. A big meh for that. Other than that good game.
Hra je totální masterpiece, fakt doporučuju.
Excellent game - Good enough story and an emotional core that will keep you hooked the whole way through. Bravo!
I went into A Plague Tale: Innocence without expecting much, and I honestly came out with one of the most memorable gaming experiences I've had in a long time. This isn't a game that relies on huge open worlds or endless side content. Instead, it focuses on telling an emotional story, and it does that incredibly well. The story follows Amicia and her little brother Hugo during one of the darkest periods in history, and from the very beginning it hooked me. Every chapter made me want to keep playing just to find out what would happen next. The world feels dark, hopeless, and dangerous, but somehow the game still manages to create beautiful moments between the characters. The atmosphere is amazing, and the soundtrack fits every emotional scene perfectly. There were several moments where I just stopped moving to appreciate how incredible everything looked. The graphics are beautiful even years after release. From medieval villages to forests and plague-ridden cities filled with thousands of rats, everything is incredibly detailed. The lighting, weather effects, and environments make the world feel alive despite how devastating it is. The gameplay is simple but never boring. I actually liked that the game doesn't try to overwhelm you with dozens of mechanics. The sling combat is surprisingly satisfying, and unlocking new alchemy abilities throughout the story keeps things interesting. The stealth sections create a lot of tension, especially when you're trying to avoid soldiers while also dealing with the endless waves of rats. Every encounter felt like a puzzle instead of just another fight. The characters are probably my favorite part of the game. Amicia grows so much throughout the story. She starts as someone who barely knows her brother and slowly becomes someone willing to sacrifice everything to protect him. Watching her character develop was amazing. Now... Hugo. I know he's just a child, and I understand why he acts the way he does, but I have to admit he drove me absolutely crazy at times. There were moments where I wanted to scream at my monitor because he kept wandering off or creating problems that could have been avoided. It definitely fits his age and the situation, but that doesn't make him any less annoying sometimes. Despite that, by the end of the game I still cared about him because that's exactly what the story wants you to feel. The supporting characters were fantastic too. Arthur quickly became one of my favorite characters. He was funny, loyal, and brought some much-needed humor into such a dark story. His death genuinely hurt. I wasn't expecting to get attached to him so quickly, and when he died it was one of those moments where I just sat there in silence. He deserved so much better. The same goes for Rodric. He was incredibly brave and probably one of the most selfless characters in the entire game. The way he sacrificed himself to help everyone else escape was heartbreaking. After everything the group had gone through together, losing him felt unfair. I honestly wish both Arthur and Rodric could have survived because they became such an important part of the journey. I was also disappointed that Mélie didn't stay with the group after everything that happened. I completely understand why she chose to leave, especially after losing her brother, but I really enjoyed her character and hoped she would remain part of the family they had built along the way. It just didn't feel quite the same after she left. One thing this game does incredibly well is making you care about the people around you. When something bad happens, you actually feel it. Not many games manage to create that emotional connection. The pacing is excellent, the voice acting is fantastic, and the soundtrack deserves special praise because it amplifies every emotional and tense moment. There wasn't a single chapter where I felt bored or wanted to rush through it. If I had one small complaint besides Hugo occasionally testing my patience, it's that I wish we had spent even more time with some of the supporting characters. They were all so likable that I wanted to learn more about them before the story ended. Overall, A Plague Tale: Innocence is one of those rare games that reminds me why I love story-driven games so much. It isn't just about surviving the plague or escaping the Inquisition—it's about family, sacrifice, friendship, and growing stronger through impossible circumstances. It made me smile, it frustrated me, and it genuinely made me sad several times. Arthur's death hurt. Rodric's death hurt. Mélie leaving made me sad. And somehow... even though Hugo annoyed me more times than I can count, by the end I still wanted to protect him. That's how you know a game has done its job. I can't recommend this game enough. If you enjoy emotional stories, memorable characters, beautiful environments, and games that stay in your mind long after the credits roll, you absolutely need to play A Plague Tale: Innocence.
