About
For any questions feel free to ask in Discord!
The Tutorial is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED even if having played the demo (now removed due to age) as there are differences.
A Merchant's Promise features No Inventory & Physics-based Inspired gameplay. You are in full control of the item you handle from the time you pick them up until you put them down...or throw them.
Your Merchant Status is everything and will determine how easily you can adjust your prices to make the most profit. There is also a Permanent Death option for those that like more risk.
Starting as a lowly Merchant you can eventually earn your way to a King's Merchant through trading as you experience:
Item Loss
Weather
Light survival elements (hunger, thirst, health, and stamina)
A part of the fun is in the discovery of something new. Whether an area, shop, event, or even something as small as a road sign that helps you find your way!
That is the intention why A Merchant's Promise uses:
Limited Menus and UI's as possible...and still trying to be reduced.
No "Objectives" or "Tasks" will pop up telling you what to do and how to do it.
You must Explore, Talk, Read, and Interact with things to learn about the world you play in!
...did I mention the Main Game Tutorial is strongly encouraged?
The Game World - I am working hard to bring more elements of "life" and "depth" into the game as current features are also tested by those of you that play the Beta Version.
Consistent & Reliable gameplay - Physics games are quirky and a lot of adjustments are always being made
Performance - No one wants a 47GB game download that gets 12FPS.
Gets the bugs out - I handle these through the Discord Reporting (Link on Store Page or In Game) as soon as possible with a ticket system so you can stay up-to-date on your issue's progress.
Thank you for taking the time to visit and I look forward to providing you with a great product and fun challenge!

Absolutely wonderful game, it really does everything it says and stays faithful to itself, the dev is amazing and listens to us and fixing things quickly. why wouldn't you try this game, it's so fun, worst case you refund it, but I think you'll enjoy it
Really enjoy this game, been following the development for a while and find myself enjoying ramping up my trading, going back and forth between the few towns. Picked mushrooms, sold those, bought cheese, traveled to another town via scenic route, sold cheese, bought health potions, traveled back, sold those, bought fish, traveled via kings rode, upgraded cart, sold fish, bought more cheese, bought a house. Very relaxing & rewarding to get better & better trades. Excited foe the future with horses & new areas!
Fellow Kings Merchant here! The idea and concept of this game has been fantastic. Love the physics and play style. Slow so you can enjoy the world, but has some thought and planning that goes into everything as well. I think this creator is onto something great and I have been following him for some time now. Keep up the great work. I love forward to seeing the end result and coming back each patch for more content. Hats off good sir!
This is one of the most unusual games I have ever played. But one of the most remarkable and unique ones I have ever played. The graphics are some how oddly reminiscent of some medieval time romance novel. The npcs are endearing and well designed. I love how the food natural spoils and rots. Items can be damaged to the point of no existence, or slight bang ups cause some damage in the travel. Freaking so cute I am in love.
Do NOT buy, at least not right now. The game is buggy, and the strength system for pulling the wagon is too difficult. I stopped playing after getting stuck on a tiny hill with no other way to go and could not progress further because my strength wasn't high enough. There is no storyline or questline to follow which makes the game very boring and confusing.
Muito bom!
The game is incredibly broken I kept getting game breaking bugs so where it was just unplayable.
Such an amazing game in development. The gameplay is really fun, its intentionally slow and methodical. Its a peaceful trading sim that rewards pacing. I've only played about an hour and a half at this point and i can already tell these things. The dev's are super responsive in their discord and awesome to chat with, really down to earth feeling you don't get anywhere now a days from dev's except maybe like Schedule 1 or some other Indies. Its like walking into a local shop in your home town, asking for product info and getting a nice discussion where you learn something and aren't steered wrong versus going to a Generic Blue Bulk Store and getting a middle finger.
