Experienced on the Oculus Quest 2
You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/5fgpFWgY3is This is a 2-3 hour long FMV / walking simulator type, narrative driven experience for VR. A lot of the gameplay consists of gaze-based pixel hunting, simple puzzles, and then some QTE type gameplay that involves basic stuff like shooting, blocking, or punching. However, the focus of the game is clearly on the story. The voice actors did a good job in my opinion, but they are obviously not native English speakers so there are many flubs and then just some stuff lost in translation. Unfortunately, the sound mix is all over the place in this game and did the voice actors no favors. The graphics aren't the best with poor lighting in certain areas and is definitely not as good looking as some of the store page screenshots. The animations are also kind of rough. The game is running on the Unreal Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs. However, the game is pretty clunky overall with the interactions and locomotion being subpar. You have nodal teleportation and snap turning available. Overall, I did enjoy the experience personally. However, I'm not sure many people will be able to look past the language barrier or the nodal teleportation or the gaze-based interactions. That's a shame, because there is a nice setting & story here to enjoy, even if it's on a shoestring budget. Besser L.A.-Noir VR spielen. We embody the amorous detective named Kevin, who is dating his girlfriend Rachel at the beginning of the movie. But after our meeting, the lady has a terrible accident and we are assigned to investigate the strange car accident. In the process, I guess we get involved in a serial killer case.... That's the introductory story. Not necessarily cinematic, but is it good enough to keep us hooked in VR? The atmosphere that A.D. 2047 spreads through the dark and rainy, cold and neon-lit futuristic setting is very cyberpunk noir. The NPCs we meet all look very good and the music is also fitting and not intrusive. Basically, this sounds nicely fitting to dive into a dark criminal case to put the serial killer. Unfortunately, Leenzee Games decided not to make a classic adventure game, but a so-called VR movie. It starts with the underlying controls in it. We can't move freely in the scenes, but only teleport to certain points. There we can then interact with things at arm's length. Interactions are indicated with small icons. Other actions are triggered when we look at a certain object with our fixation point. Then this little dot changes and the story continues. Unfortunately, it's not entirely clear from the narrated story what we have to look for, and so A.D. 2047 quickly becomes a frustrating hidden object game. In the second scene of the first chapter we find a map on which the controls are explained, unfortunately this cannot be scrolled back. Thus and similarly, A.D. 2047 leaves us repeatedly in the lurch and alone wondering in the room or later on the street. The atmosphere the game spreads is great, but the graphics are very blurry at only a short distance, even at 200% supersampling rate in SteamVR. Up close, however, everything looks very good. The subtitles are equally hard to read, as they flicker unpleasantly unless we close one eye. Then the English synchro is so uncharitable and not lip-synced that you have to laugh. Apparently all the male NPCs are dubbed by the same voice actor. If it gets action-heavy in A.D. 2047, we have to compete in small quicktime events. For example, quickly start our car to "quickly" drive to the scene of an accident. All of this happens suddenly and without announcement for that reason alone, and because the interaction objects are so poorly marked, we naturally fail the first action events. I ended up getting stuck at the scene of an accident because I didn't understand how to re-derive the accident sequence using AR. I stood on the road forever and looked at everything 100 times, but nothing else happened. A.D. 2047 could have been a great cyberpunk noir thriller, the idea of releasing it as an interactive movie unfortunately more than failed. Better to play L.A.-Noir VR.
This was a fun experience, I enjoyed going through the Virtual mystery. Story was entertaining , visuals were beautiful, and game play was OK ( best played sitting because there is no locomotion in this game. IF want to see gameplay: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE1CsXILgGI&t=8534s&ab_channel=WCR2 Game however didn't run as well as I had hoped ( frame rate drops from 60 to 45 a lot), but I was streaming at the same time, figuring out how to progress was difficult at first ( must find all clues before preceding) and center pointer was different for both eyes. Overall it was a fun experince and honestly can't wait for the next part of the game.
A great cyberpunk style puzzle game in ChongQing. Cheer the developer who's bravely trying VR.
Wow, trailer looked promising. But then when you start the game its a blurry mess, voice acting is meh. The scaling is broken it feels like your feet is under the ground. The controlls are the worst. move joystic to open the menu?? Dont buy this
In short, not ready for release yet as I suspect the code is still riddled with bug as running this on a 2080ti dedicated games rig with index resulted in a pc that went in to overheating mode and this is the only game doing this. Did anybody in the western world QA tested this before release? as: The menu indicates support for "Engilish". The English voice acting is horrible. The controls with the index controllers makes no sense at all and movement is just a skip to another position.
