a fun little visual novel that lets you assume the role of a female PI in the 1920s. it's charming, with a minimalistic artstyle, interesting characters, and a mystery that may not be groundbreakingly new but still works out quite fine. the storybeats are pretty linear, although you get to decide which clue to investigate first. honestly, i just really enjoyed the vibes and the character art. i wasn't blown away with the story, but i also didn't expect to be and i think this game does well what it intends to do. i'd recommend getting it while on sale however!
A low-pace, ease-you-into-gaming level of simplicity, combines with a unique art style to bring you into the 1920's, to click through a short private investigation. The achievements are a checklist of the game content, and it can be completed in about 2-4 hours. Click everything and use all your clues on everyone to see how they react. Might require a second playthough if you miss some clues early on. Pretty standard completion; 5/7.
A mostly text based detective game that requires to think and connect different clues before accusing someone. My only gripe? This game is short! The visual style fits this genre and the setting during the Prohibition years is a nice touch. The sound design is amazing and the Jazz music in the background - fits just right in. There's no voiceover and I believe proper voiceover would elevate the experience to a higher level, although it does come with it fair share of production costs. My other gripe is that you need to erase the existing save data before starting a new game, which I found as irrelevant. Adding tidbits of those yesteryear stories as part of Taxi ride conversations was an unexpected bonus! Though there might not be much replayability, it still delivers an awesome gameplay. - 9/10
Stunning game! Really, really enjoyed it. Highly recommend.
Quit pretty quickly because it's dialogue driven and the dialogue immediately annoyed me
A short and stylish detective adventure. This game offers strong dialogue and well-written characters. The artstyle is very uniqe and fitting, but I wish the music was used in a more interesting way. The investigation mechanics are pretty interesting and I wish there were even more ways to use the information you gather. You might be able to finish this game in one sitting, but the experience with stay with you for a long time afterwards. Even though the game is short, there is some optional content, which is as enjoyable as the main story. I would be interested in another story with this protagonist in the future.
The story is "Meh...". The writing starts decent... The end is rushed. It turns into "find that one dialog option to progress", while earlier multiple options would progress.
Like I had cliked acuse only because there was no dialog left. I didn't got who's hat it was, why do I have to acuse people when I know there is more to the story?
So ye it fails the end. ... Oh and,
why isn't mrs. green in jail? She helped to murder.
Like WTF?
