About
Entities known as The Originals have lived for centuries, granted time, granted power, and the freedom to abuse both. That power is now owed.
Noa Brooklyn was born The Collector, raised by the Zaindaris for a purpose she did not choose: taking that power back.
Explore a handcrafted Amsterdam by day. At night, uncover what lies beneath its surface. Every facade carries a gablestone. Not all of them tell the truth.
The Originals walk among Amsterdam’s citizens, hidden behind human faces. Identify them. Mark them. When the Esbat comes, confront them in their true form under the moon. Collect what is owed.
Noa commands witchcraft and spellcasting passed down through generations of Zaindaris. Each target can be approached in multiple ways. Strategy, timing, and choice define the outcome. Every Esbat is a reckoning.
Noa is not alone. Aaron, summoned from 1999, now sees the world through the eyes of a cat. Together, they are one: Switch between Noa and Aaron across two radically different playstyles. One wields witchcraft. The other has four paws and flair.

I am extremely sad to say that this game is not even close to being ready to be released, let alone early release. It was frustrating to play the game with this level of inconsistencies within the first 2.4 hours of playing. I am still hopeful for where this may end, but right now I had to quit. The intro scene when walking into the group, standing around the tree. It is awkward that you have to continue walking into the crowd while the scene pans out. This would be much smoother if it were a cut scene. I'm not going to lie... the animation in this reminds me of playing old-school GTA. It could be much better. When you're walking in the hotel, many NPC faces appear blank until you get up close. The cats in the tree look like they are barely alive and have mange... The running command does not seem to make most of the characters, aside from the cat, go any faster. They lean forward, but it feels like the same speed. The subtitles do not always match the dialog. When you turn the subtitles off in the accessibility menu, they don't actually turn off. In the first combat, the tutorial screen had coding instructions, not the actual controller buttons. After dying, it fixed. A big part of the spell casting is LUX and NUX. The initial combat tutorial should be had PRIOR to the combat requiring LUX and NUX. Yet in the gameplay, it is telling you about casting LUX and NUX, but not how to change them. Very confusing to literally learn how to transmute LUX into NUX almost immediately after. The menu—why have a tutorial section with only the top including the definition of the term and then far below at the bottom how to actually do it? This is redundant, include them together: the definition and then how to do it. You already have multiple pages. Why does the game player have to look at the definition and then scroll to the bottom to find out how to actually perform the function? Massive bug: Mast Elzeivr spell. The LUX/NUX in the corner would show for the cat but not for Noa. Then the spell would not show up. Reload, and it finally shows up. Yet the spell won't work in the combat. Finally, why tf can I not save when I want to quit? I love the auto save feature, but there should be a manual save as well. I honestly think I'm done playing until this comes out complete. My hopes were higher than they should have been, sadly. I love the concept of the game and where it could go. The story is phenomenal, but the gameplay is seriously lacking right now.
I was hyped for this game as soon as it was announced. The demo was fantastic and felt really promising, but the full game fell completely flat after about an hour. I was expecting a narrative driven experience. The combat mechanics are introduced immediately and feel terrible to play, I had to turn on the camera settings in order to focus on the correct enemies. The mechanics didn't work, sometimes I died by a key not registering, this make any fight I went into frustrating and I tried to avoid them altogether. The water section in particular was excruciatingly frustrating as well, inputs wouldn't register, tutorial mechanics didn't work as shown, and constant glitches kept occurring. It’s hard to stay immersed in a story when you’re constantly fighting broken game mechanics. Huge letdown after such a strong demo.
People are giving 1666: Amsterdam a negative review because they're expecting it to be a polished, high-action experience right away. This is a game that is carefully giving you world-building. The state of the Early Access version has a little bugginess to it, but if you let it cook, and you enjoy the story it is trying to give you, it has a great tone and vibe to it. For now I'd give it a B+, I think the combat needs a little work, and I think the devs need to work on giving Noa options that don't force her into combat if they are truly aiming for a choice-based system. On the other side, I think there needs to be more combat options than just her broom swing. We're in Early Access, this has room to grow. I'm eager to see what happens. Be gentle with them though, good things take time. (also, report bugs in the in-game bug reporter. It helps)
I wanted to like this game and the idea of it. It is something different but the there is so much ai that i really wonder if this a scam or not? Also after i installed this game and played it for more than an hour my browser and steam work strangely slow and dont load properly while other browsers have no issue - i suspect a potential virus in here. My pc isnt old i have the r7 9800x3d with rtx 5080 so there should be anything like this. This game isnt worth its current price maybe 5 eu tops! Developers like these make us turn away from games... STOP making all this AI bs you call games!!! This is a bad joke and poorly optimised with a hidden virus i suspect!!
Not worth it, its bland and a very buggy mess. They should've continued developing before releasing early access.
