Nice little puzzle game with up to 2 characters in Escher-like environments with low use on resources. Next levels introduce new puzzle elements bringing new mechanics. Learn how to use the new puzzle elements. Using the puzzle elements, the perspective and the twisting paths changes.

if you know the first [i]monument valley[/i] you will feel right at home. in case you don't you really should start your puzzle journey with the first game. it's like the game before but with new game mechanics added and while the interactions between mother and daughter are absolutely adorable the game is sadly a little shorter than last time. the indirect control of the second character at the beginning puts a new spin on the game but there are more new things to come. you'll see. however the levels in the second game do feel shorter, easier and sometimes almost trivial. maybe it's persistent experience from playing the first game or i'm just really that good at gaming. anyway the game was finished and 100% completed in 99 minutes and while it was really good fun it felt more like a dlc for the first game than a game of its own. but it was just fine for a cozy sunday evening and i have zero regrets! get it during sale and you'll be good, too. back to my review of the first [i]Monument Valley[/i]: https://steamcommunity.com/id/Meister_Leuchte/recommended/1927720

This game is quite good, but compared to the first one I enjoyed it less. The puzzles still rely heavily on optical illusions, just like before, and there wasn’t much new aside from fresh maps and a continuation of the story. I love the concept of this game, but it really needs more variety to keep things exciting. That said, it was still fun overall. 与其说是纪念碑谷二，不如说是一的前传。 这次的故事主要是围绕两个人展开的（小艾达和她的妈妈萝尔）。一开始由萝尔指引艾达并进行脱帽仪式，后来艾达独自尝试破解机关再到坐上帆船起航与萝尔分别，象征了艾达的成长，自此母女二人的故事线分开——艾达继续踏上成长之路，萝尔留守灯塔。分别后萝尔见到了一代图腾的兄弟——换皮图腾，似乎也暗示着她女儿会走她走过的路吧，直到最后一章，艾达蜕变为我们一代里看到过那样，在瞭望塔母女分别走进不同的门，两人才算正式分别，艾达踏上赎罪之路并效仿母亲归还几何新星，萝尔虽在时间长河中化为灵魂但仍为艾达做指引。 音乐和美术如同第一篇评测说的，很优秀，但是感觉迷题难度降低了，而且dlc也只剩下一节保护森林公益篇。可能是本体故事就比较完整的原因吧，希望能像一代一样多出几个扩展章节。

The game somehow gets even better than the first... the sound effects are a lot more polished, and there is a lot more variety and quality to the audio. As well, there are more types of animations within the maps, and the game is more polished overall with better storytelling. The 5th dimension is here.

The story of this game is sooo cute. The gameplay is relaxing. As someone who loves puzzles, this one was not challenging whatsoever. The whole game is very short. I went back to get the only achievement that is not simply "finish this level" and even this took me no time. I used this game more as a way to calm down before going to bed then anything else. I didn't pay attention to the story when playing the first one, but this one I did and I kinda wanna go back and redo the first one to focus on the story more. So if you are looking for a challenging puzzle game: this ain't it, like at all. If you are looking for a quick meditative experience, then that might be more what this is. I will be getting the third one, but I will wait for a sale, because games in this series are very short, so I don't know if I recommend it at full price, unless you have the means and want to encourage the devs!
