It's a little masterpiece of a game, with a nice retro art style, sfx, overlay animations and difficulty balance. The gameplay weaves itself nicely between turn based survival and a little bit strategy. 10/10
amazing short pixel game, funny big brain puzzle, great animations, multiple endings, cat, can pet cat, 11/10
Extremely addictive micro-roguelike with great sound design and horror atmosphere. Perfect for steam deck
It's overall a good game that is worth your money. The art and presentation is unique and great but, I have some gripes with parts of the gameplay. I felt a single run drags on too long without anything substantial to fill in the empty repetition. I wish there was more upgrades happening instead of just 4 per run, it would probably makes the game more replayability.
The definition of a coffee break roguelike with runs taking 20-30 minutes, and from the online leaderboard I see a rare few even completed runs in 10. The game allows you one revive per run which will get you the bad ending if you use it. But it also makes the game way too easy. I beat my first run with the first character without using the revive, and my runs with the second and third characters were both beaten first try, but with having to use the revive. I beat the game with all characters so quickly that I know from having seen a review that I have yet to experience all the tilesets and enemies. If you are used to playing roguelikes the only difficulty will come from going after some achievements that depend on not using any level ups etc. Besides the lack of difficulty, the only bad thing about the game is it's name. I don't like when games put stuff like pixel, voxel, 3D etc in the title, but in this case the title isn't even accurate. The game is not 1-bit, not even all the artwork is.
This is one of the best traditional console style roguelikes I've played. It is also a really good and unique use of a non traditional theme. It's like Cave Noire meets Dusk '82. I think it was a mobile game first, but it really feels more like a classic gameboy game than anything else,
The art style is gorgeous. The first person perspective, whenever you attack or heal, is super unique and creative. I have not yet beaten the game, but I will for sure continue playing until I do. For 4$, you are getting a cute little roguelike arcade game, that is very simple to play, but still has some depth and strategy to it.
not a bad game personally couldn't figure it out as in the combat is a lil weird but pretty fun
Really cool and recommended. Small roguelike with unique 1-bit pixel art style and grungy dithered art added on top. Small levels with high degree of strategy and replayability. Lots of options for tactics which change per-run with different bonuses and per-level with random layouts. If you're a roguelike nerd, this probably counts as a "Brough-like" genre of roguelike.
TITLE: 1 BIT SURVIOR CONCULSION: A decent product. Loved it. BUY OR NO BUY: BUY. ART STYLE: Unique and fits gameplay mechanism well. UI & ACCESSIBILITY: OK. CONTROL SCHEME: I'd wish for a more complete keyboard control scheme so I can play the game with keyboard only (I feel this game would be much immersive without mouse clicks). Or is this already supported? I might later write an autohotkey script to get that work. GRAPHICAL TECH-DETAILS (PERFORMANCE/OPTIMIZATION): OK. STORY: I Love Leo. GAMEPLAY MECHANISM: Complexity is just right, randomized levels could be challenging. PROGRESSING: 28 days is ... a little too long??? DIFFICULTY & LEARNING CURVE: Reading the community guide is ADVISED. MODDING FRIENDLY: ? IN-GAME CHEAT CONSOLE: NO REPLAYABILITY: Good SOUND DESIGN: OK. VOICE-OVER: NO MUSIC: OK.
