It is a very decent solitaire game with a 100 levels in total with some mini-games ones mixed in between. It still has the annoying match 3 levels the first chapter had tho. Works fine on Linux with Proton (Proton 4.2-1)
Zombie Solitaire 2 Chapter 2 is a lighthearted and content-rich continuation of rokaplay’s quirky take on classic solitaire, blending familiar card mechanics with humorous storytelling and a steady stream of puzzle variations. Rather than presenting solitaire as a purely abstract card-clearing exercise, the game wraps it in an episodic zombie-apocalypse adventure, giving players a sense of journey and progression that extends beyond simply completing one board after another. As the second chapter in the Zombie Solitaire 2 storyline, it refines the ideas of its predecessor while expanding the scope and variety of challenges on offer. At its core, the game remains rooted in traditional solitaire rules, using a clear and accessible Ace-to-King structure that will be immediately familiar to casual players. What distinguishes it is how frequently those rules are bent or enhanced through modifiers, special cards, and situational objectives. Power-ups such as jokers, bombs, and other themed abilities allow players to break through difficult layouts, while limited resources encourage planning rather than blind clicking. This balance keeps the experience relaxed but not mindless, rewarding attention and foresight without ever becoming punishing. Progression is framed through a playful narrative that treats each level as part of a broader survival journey through a zombie-infested world. Between solitaire boards, players encounter short story moments, map-based travel, and occasional decision points that influence rewards or resources. These elements do not dramatically alter the overall plot, but they provide welcome context and variety, making the experience feel more like an adventure than a disconnected series of card tables. The tone remains humorous and self-aware, ensuring that the zombie theme feels charming rather than grim. Variety is one of the game’s strongest assets. Alongside standard solitaire levels, players are periodically introduced to alternative puzzle formats, including match-3-style encounters and special event stages with unique rules. These diversions help break up longer sessions and prevent fatigue, especially given the game’s substantial number of levels. The pacing is carefully managed, with new mechanics introduced gradually so that the learning curve feels smooth rather than overwhelming. Visually, the game adopts a colorful, cartoon-inspired style that emphasizes clarity and approachability. Cards are easy to read, animations are simple but expressive, and character art leans into exaggerated, friendly designs rather than horror imagery. This makes the game suitable for a wide audience, including players who may not typically gravitate toward zombie-themed content. The interface is intuitive, with clear feedback for moves, power-ups, and objectives, allowing players to focus on problem-solving rather than navigation. Sound design supports the relaxed nature of the experience. Music is upbeat and unobtrusive, designed to sit comfortably in the background during extended play sessions. Sound effects for card movements and special actions provide satisfying feedback without becoming repetitive or distracting. The overall audio presentation reinforces the game’s identity as a casual, low-stress puzzle title meant to be enjoyed in short bursts or longer, leisurely sittings. Difficulty is tuned to accommodate a broad range of players. Early levels are forgiving and instructional, while later stages introduce more complex layouts and tighter resource constraints. Optional goals, such as earning maximum stars or completing levels efficiently, provide extra challenge for completionists without blocking progress for more casual players. This flexible approach ensures that the game remains accessible while still offering depth for those who want to engage more seriously with its mechanics. The main limitation of Zombie Solitaire 2 Chapter 2 lies in its intentional simplicity. Players seeking deep strategic card systems or dramatic narrative developments may find the experience somewhat shallow over time, as the fundamental gameplay loop remains consistent throughout. However, this consistency is also part of its appeal, providing a dependable and comfortable structure that many fans of casual puzzle games value. Overall, Zombie Solitaire 2 Chapter 2 succeeds as a polished and engaging casual title that adds personality and variety to a familiar formula. By combining classic solitaire gameplay with humorous storytelling, frequent mechanical twists, and a generous amount of content, it offers a satisfying experience that respects players’ time and attention. For fans of solitaire looking for a playful, well-paced adventure with a clear sense of progression, it stands as a strong and enjoyable entry in the genre. Rating: 7/10
Zombie Solitaire 2 Chapter 2
