Zniw Adventure

I saw some artwork of this cute little game, and eventually caved and bought it. Only a few days later, I had finished it, and would now like to spread the word about Zniw Adventure that I think deserves more exposure. It's intentionally going for the 90's point and click vibe, and you get to play a bright-yellow dinosaur getting into trouble. Don't let the comic look deceive you - this is a proper point'n'click adventure game, with a proper plot that's not dumbed down to baby level. I, personally, stuck because of the style and the characters, and I took about 8 hours in total for my first run. It's chock-full of love and charm, and created exclusively by two people. They're a teeny, tiny studio, and if that sounds at all interesting, check it out! I swear I'm not affiliated with them in any way. I just loved the game, and would like to support indie developers. :)

Oh, what a game! And dinosaurs, and music, and art, and even the art style specifically (pixel-y/aliased, but not trying to be pixelart. Highly inspiring) An all-around good time with a bit of replay-ability and unlockable extras. Generally true to old-school adventure games. If you get stuck, don't forget to talk to every NPC, check your encyclopedia, and inspect any suspicious objects, especially in the village area.

As a point & click adventure game, the endearing art style managed to win me over enough to buy it. Everything felt cozy from the story to the characters and how much I cared about them. Even the music was more than enough to just hum to. Definitely worth getting if you have the itch for such a game.

Genialny point&click! Bardzo dużo animacji, miła fabuła, zero wulgaryzmów - nareszcie można normalnie w coś prograć! (a szczególnie przy dziecku) :P Wszystko poklatkowo, aż czuć ogrom pracy i serca włożonego w tę grę - polecam :)

I show this game to everyone but I haven't found the trigger to advance the plot yet.

Had to consult a guide a couple times, but that was mostly just me being impatient (well a thing or two were a little absurd, but isn’t that how these usually roll). More pressingly, the game did crash a few times, so save regularly! Overall a pretty good time. Might do a 100% playthrough later, but more likely won’t bother.

Zniw Adventure is a very pretty game. I love the way the dinosaurs are drawn, how they move and react, and how everything looks. The art of the game is stellar. The story is very solid, too. Took me a while to get around to beating it, because I got soft-locked on my original attempt. Some of the progression can be rather.. annoying. The music is good, but I've only listened to the game until about the half-way point, so I can't give a complete verdict on that one. There's lots of little secrets, jokes, and collectible bonuses throughout the game, and to be completely honest. If you want all of them, you're gonna need a guide or walkthrough, because this game operates very much like the old-school ones. It's just nicer with the saves and auto-saves. My biggest annoyance with the game is that my game crashed just at the end, so I had to look up the last -two minutes- of the credits and such to see the end of the game. All in all, the team did a good job on this game. Very much worth the purchase.

The world was interesting and very pleasant, and the writing is really charming. What I appreciated most was how alive the main city felt. Characters would appear and disappear over time, making them feel like they had lives of their own and were not just static objects. The characters had fun personalities and their dialogue was filled with a lot of good family-friendly humor, and the writing was mostly concise (though the dialogue does get a little excessive in the last act). I really wish the game had voice acting but, knowing how expensive voice acting can be, I understand why that might not have been feasible. One issue I had with the story was how ungrateful your mom is with your brother’s gift, which undermined the feel-good vibe for me. The inciting incident is your quest to get your mom a hatchday gift, and seeing her being so ungrateful to your brother’s heartfelt gift made the ending not land as well as it should have for me. But overall, the journey was well worth the time and money for me. The game is fairly cheap even at full price and it's reasonably lengthy so I think it's more than worth it.

This is a beautiful Point&Click adventure. The world design is so charming. The puzzles have a nice medium difficulty, making it neither too easy nor frustratingly hard. I enjoyed every minute of playing.
