About
Half a million players have stepped into the radioactive ruins, scavenged for precious loot, and fought tooth and nail to make it out alive. That number represents not just sales, but stories. Thousands of extraction runs, loadouts tested, factions faced, and unforgettable moments of survival and chaos.
For those who are making runs into the radioactive wasteland, THANK YOU! And for those of you thinking if you should join them, well, I know 600,000 reasons why you should...
Happy hunting...
The world has ended. ZERO Sievert charges you with scavenging equipment across multiple areas, all set in an atmospheric fictitious post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe setting. Your base of operations, the bunker, is filled with traders, modding stations, and areas to make your own, providing you with progression across your excursions into the wild.
Once you’re out in the wilds of the wasteland, however, the situation becomes a lot less secure. Across the six biomes of the game, you’ll initially be armed with little more than a gun and a bottle of water, after which point it’s up to you to recover items, take out bandits, and most importantly, get back alive.
And be warned; the nuclear fallout may have impacted some of the local wildlife…
With a complete new hunter experience, our tutorial takes you (loosely) by the hand and equips you with the knowledge, skills and guns you'll need to to survive and thrive in the world of ZERO Sievert.
Procedurally generated maps make every journey different, with ever-changing hiding spots, loot locations, weather, and layouts. With six maps to explore, be sure to adapt and learn each one's secrets to get in, get out, and get better.
Hunt in a way that suits your playstyle, with over 50 unique guns and 150 mods that can be combined to make you the biggest threat in the wastes of ZERO Sievert. Create a weapon that suits your style or focus on stats to become the ultimate hunter.
As you survive the harsh wasteland you’ll gain experience, sharpening your skills and unlocking new ways to become a deadly hunter. The Weapon Skill System allows you to level up various weapon types, boosting stats such as reload speed, damage, movement speed, and even unlocking unique perks tailored to each weapon. Beyond weapon XP, you can level-up your hunter with unique perks to help navigate the wasteland, tackle tough challenges, and take on more enemies.
In Zakov you’ll encounter The Green Army, a group dedicated to maintaining law and order, or the Crimson Corporation, a global pharmaceutical and technology giant. As a hunter you can choose a faction, earn reputation, unlock unique faction quests, and collect special, high-tier loot to aid you in your journey throughout the wasteland!
Multiple questlines guide you through the world of ZERO Sievert. Through talking with a range of characters you’ll slowly unravel information and lore about the world that’s been left behind. Alongside this, there are more than 100 different items to loot which can be used to craft new items, upgrade your own base, and trade.
The Steam Workshop offers all new ways for you to experience the post-apocalyptic world of Zakov. Dive into a wide range of game changing mods that introduce new weapons to your arsenal, factions for you to work for, NPC’s to discover, quests, languages, and much more.

great play loop its signal player tarkov with some stalker aspects I thing its well balanced 10/10
Zero Sievert: A Top-Tier 2D Extraction Masterpiece
Zero Sievert is an absolute masterpiece of indie game design—a masterclass in tension, atmosphere, and hardcore survival mechanics. Developed by CABO Studio, this top-down pixel-art extractor successfully translates the brutal, high-stakes adrenaline rush of Escape from Tarkov and the haunting post-apocalyptic dread of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. into a highly addictive single-player experience. It is a top-tier title that respects the player's intelligence while delivering a punishingly beautiful loop of looting, shooting, and surviving. I would genuinely give this an 11/10 if I could.
☢️ Phenomenal Tarkov-Like Tension and Atmosphere
The atmosphere in Zero Sievert is incredibly thick, tense, and beautifully bleak. Wandering through the procedurally generated wasteland of Zakov feels like a constant gamble with your life. The game perfectly captures the core essence of Tarkov: the overwhelming dread of hearing footsteps in the dark, the desperate rush to find a secure extraction point, and the crushing weight of losing all your hard-earned loot upon death. The haunting ambient soundtrack and the dynamic weather/day-night cycle turn every single raid into a pulse-pounding survival horror experience where one wrong step means instant death.
🔫 Deep Weapon Customization and Gunplay
For a 2D game, the gunplay and weapon mechanics are astonishingly deep and rewarding. The weapon customization is heavily inspired by hardcore tactical shooters, allowing you to swap out stocks, scopes, grips, lasers, and suppressors to build the perfect firearm for your playstyle. Ballistics are modeled with extreme care, requiring you to manage ammo types, armor penetration, recoil, and weapon ergonomics. Landing a clean shot on a high-tier bandit or a terrifying mutated beast feels incredibly heavy, precise, and satisfying.
🎒 The Bunker and Rewarding Progression
The central hub—the Bunker—serves as the perfect tactical anchor between your deadly excursions. Rebuilding your base of operations, upgrading different modules (like the infirmary or the kitchen), and managing your stash provides an intensely motivating progression loop. Accepting quests from various factions, trading valuable scrap, and organizing your inventory makes the downtime just as engaging as the raids themselves. It turns the brutal difficulty into a highly rewarding long-term project where you can actively feel your character getting stronger and more self-sufficient.
⚠️ Drawbacks
To put it bluntly: this game is completely merciless and features a punishingly steep learning curve. Newcomers will die—a lot—before they understand the layout, the enemy behavior, and the radiation mechanics. The procedural generation can occasionally place enemies or hazards in frustratingly tight spots right at the start of a raid, leading to sudden and seemingly unfair deaths. However, for anyone who craves true, uncompromised tactical survival, these brutal setbacks are exactly what makes eventual success feel so incredibly sweet.
🏆 Conclusion
Zero Sievert is a crowning achievement in the indie scene, proving that you don’t need a multi-million-dollar 3D engine to create one of the most immersive, intense, and top-tier extraction shooters on the market. It captures the pure, addictive soul of Tarkov, wraps it in a gorgeous pixel-art package, and delivers endless hours of thrilling, high-stakes gameplay. For fans of post-apocalyptic worlds, deep gun customization, and brutal survival challenges, this game isn't just a recommendation—it is an absolute, mandatory masterpiece. An undeniable, well-deserved personal favorite.
Rating: 10/10
Its so hard
Naprawcie tą optymalizację..
Really solid game, scratching the Fallout itch but looking like Stardew Valley. The game mechanics took a little getting used to and some light Googling, highly recommend using keyboard and mouse versus a controller. If you can get this one on sale, it might help make up for all of those expensive games you bought but never play. I died non stop for the first two hours. 10/10 would recommend.
ZERO Sievert is a fun little 2D extraction shooter. It makes my brain tick in all the right ways as I loot for quest items and base building materials while trying to complete quests. There's a ton of weapons and modifications to play around with and an equal amount of ammo types to try. It's great early on but as the game continues, there are multiple frustration points that begin to add up. The first major frustration point will probably be in the second map (Makeshift camp). Here, if you have the misfortune of stumbling upon the roaming boss, you'll quickly learn that some enemies have crazy line of sight and because you've just come from the initial map with lower tier armor and ammo, you'll get merked almost immediately. And it only gets worse from here. In the fourth map (Mall), enemies will sometimes spawn at the entrance, giving you zero time to react and resulting in an instant death. By the last map (Zakov), time to kill is so low that gameplay devolves into slowly inching forward with a sniper so that you can try to take enemies out before they notice you. Of course, the game is aware of this so the final few missions funnel you into tight corridors where this strategy becomes impossible and you're forced to resort to grenade spamming, making a grueling gauntlet a hundred times more frustrating. Gameplay aside, ZERO Sievert seems to have been primarily influenced by Escape from Tarkov, however there's clearly some love for S.T.A.L.K.E.R here as well. I just wish they played those influences up a bit more as all of the anomalies are pretty bland and honestly the game could have done without them. More creative anomalies like a gravity well that curved bullets would have been cool to see. Despite all this, I still had enough fun that I'm willing to give the game a 5/10. I wouldn't blame you for quitting in frustration or turning down the game's difficulty though.
