About

Brilliant, burnt-out, possibly cursed – you play as operant Hershel Wilk, alias CASCADE. Five years ago you led your team into the abyss and have been haunted by your failures ever since. Now you've been recalled for a mysterious assignment that may give you a chance to prove yourself again.

Uncover secrets hidden in the lost corners of the city and within your own mind. Navigate a murky world of potential informants and adversaries. Pass skill checks to uncover their true motivations through subterfuge, violence, or deduction. As an operant, there are multiple ways to approach every problem - your choices and methods will be your own, and so will the consequences.

Find yourself thrown into a three-way struggle for cultural and ideological power, played out across an unforgettable city. You'll go up against international bankers, foreign techno-fascists, psychic doppelgängers, a paranoid TV presenter, a man with a box for a heart, and dozens more. Everyone you meet has their own agendas, beliefs, and secrets for you to uncover and turn to your own ends. In ZERO PARADES, even the world itself is a character with its own secrets, traumas, and miracles for you to discover.

Operants subject themselves to years of psychological training to hone their minds into their greatest weapons. Do you favor animal-like reflexes, a philosophical approach, or a different cover story for every occasion? Through Conditioning, you'll turn the deepest aspects of Hershel's identity into potent abilities and unlock new paths forward. You can even change the rules of the game itself.

Pressures simulate the physical and psychological toll of being in-theatre. Exertion pushes dice rolls in your favour – just remember that you’re gambling with your life. Keep your Fatigue, Anxiety, and Delirium in check or deal with the long-term repercussions.

In this line of work you're going to fail way more often than you succeed. That much is expected of you. What matters is how you pick yourself back up. If the dice don't go your way (and they won't) you'll have to improvise and hope the consequences are ones you can live with.

This game is so funny! I find myself laughing out loud all the time while playing.

*seriously* moonglow. goty, so far.
More than anything, this is a thriller. And its thrills reach heights that Disco could match perhaps in one moment only. Play this ♥♥♥♥. Not saying you gotta give your money to any *hustle-grinders*, mind you. But do play it. It does its own thing, and does it real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ well. Don't make the mistake I did, go all in on Action. I've never had so much fun wanging a MOFO in a game. PS:The music kills any track off the Disco soundtrack, singularly barring the exception of La Revacholiere. get fkd sea power :) TL;DR Cool.
Good gaming time
WE WANT TURKİSH PLEASE ZAUM MAKE İT OUT TURKİSH
An elegant, thoughtful sophomore effort from za/zum that takes the tropes of the spy genre and bends them towards the surreal. I preferred to play it as a refugee from a Le Carre novel and the game accommodated this with grace. Luck and skill, CASCADE
Luck and skill, CASCADE...
RATING: 8/10
Let's start with the obvious.
THE ZA/UM SITUATION:
The former developers at studio ZA/UM were fired by the new investors and shareholders of the company because of greed. It's up there everywhere online, look it up. Not to mention, since ZP didn't match expected sales, they had to give "at rist" notice to new developers too.
THE IMPOSSILBE BAR OF DISCO ELYSIUM:
What Disco Elysium was, eventually became a life-changing experience than what it initially appeared to be with it's idea of the game. Disco Elysium was a result of years of work and creative endeavors by one of the most creative and talented teams. It is nearly impossible to reach that bar again let alone surpass it. Now, the GOOD:
EXPANDED AND REFINED GAMEPLAY SYSTEM:
The UI and Hud is clean and very aesthetic. It is more suitable for the eyes. The new 'Exertion' feature comes at a cost to gain advantage but can also make you suffer if unaware. Consumables are now more ideal to use without NPCs concerns. Although no animations, you have to use different items to balance yourself altogether which makes it more thoughtful. You can now "Optimise" your specific modifiers through a button to prepare yourself for a check instantly.
INTERESTING AND COOL CONCEPTS:
It starts off kind of similar. A mess from you emerge, and learn more about the world and yourself. This time, more about current events and the world than memories or "searching yourself". The Spy-espionage concept is pretty good and the things converge more as the more you explore, do checks and understand what is going on.
ART AND MUSIC:
The main game is just as Disco Elysium. The concept arts are very gorgeous and stunning, and fits the spy-genre very fittingly. The music, while not all are worthy, some are great for some situations. Again, carefully planned for a espionage adventure. The BAD:
THE NARRATIVE:
The world is very hard to understand. I came knowing surprisingly little about the actual world and its history. You get so much dialogue lines from individual characters about themselves, but very critical information is almost deliberately withheld. A lot of momentum for the narrative to go back and forth but eventually stops somewhere where you don't understand the world better or other characters.
THE INNER DIALOGUE:
Unlike Disco Elysium where your skills gave you fresh perspectives or talked to you and among themselves to come to certain conclusions, the skills of this game feels really like "Skills" rather than your own personas. That is big factor for ultimately understanding who the main character *is* and *why*.
WEAK NPCS:
There are some characters who keeps on rambling for you to learn absolutely nothing. Even other NPCs felt quite weak through their quests or dialogues. They eventually never change neither can you do something to change *them* or change at least the world around you. It's almost decided that the world is *fixed* before you. Though, that does kind connect to your own character lore.
THE MISSING VA/BUGS:
As of now, the game still has a considerable amount of lines missing voice. Some other lines are a bit bugged sometimes. Like you'll hear one crystal clear voice line among several phone-static voice lines which breaks immersion. I had my fun time and enjoyed this spy-craft. Whether you bootleg this game or not, it's your choice. But know that this was made by new developers and a very few that remained at the studio. Don't compare this to Disco Elysium, because it doesn't even come close. I'd consider this a separate game entirely, that focuses more on spy-espionage and only that theme. Though it does a beautiful job, there are some obvious angles where it falls short.
LUCK AND SKILL, OPERANT.
