Zeno Clash

This is the greatest game that I will never, ever in good conscience recommend to anyone. It is my emotional support terrible game that irreversibly altered the trajectory of my life in my teenage years, and it's perfect. You probably won't like it.

I'd recommend this if not for the grotesque transphobia

This game is an fps, but calling it just an fps is like calling Evangelion just a mecha anime, technically true but completely missing the point, this game has a unique, grotesque, and deranged aesthetic in the best way possible, that makes you stop every five minutes and go wtf am I even looking at? Everything about this game feels completely alien, the story, the atmosphere, the weapons, the characters (except the protagonist who is relatively normal, which makes the contrast even weirder). It's like someone took a fever dream, injected it with body horror and weird tribal violence, then let it loose. The environments are ugly and beautiful in the most f**ked up way possible The story is insane but weirdly captivating. It pulled me in even though half the time I had no idea wtf was going on. Gameplay wise it mixes brutal melee fistfights with fps sections. The exploration is interesting too, you WANT to poke around and see what other grotesque s**t the devs cooked up. Every new area feels like walking into another layer of wtf If you’re the kind of deg*n*rate who loves weird, artsy, mind bending games and just shove pure surreal insanity in your face, then Zeno Clash is an easy recommend. It’s a legit unique experience 8/10, Would punch more freaks again

Amazing game. I like a game with a vision - something that wants to do something new and this game sure is like that. I mean in a lot of ways it feels like they took unwritten rules (that exists for good reasons) and just were like ♥♥♥♥ it lets do first person melee actually. Lets have a weird intriguing alien world but not explain anything. Lets have VAs talk while inhaling to make it sound freaky but not put in subtitles. Lets have a blind guy be a sniper using squirrels rigged with explosive barrels he parachutes down upon you. Lets have a brawler about how we find meaning and community and maybe god? in a destitude world beyond our comprehension. Lets not have controller support. It works way better than it should apart from the last point. Honestly the surreal artstyle that piqued my interest is the least outstanding thing about this.The story and music are really good though i didnt really care for the main protagonist. The combat is pretty fun as well and even if it gets a bit frustrating and repetitive at some point the game is super short so its not really a bother only the last section got me swearing a little. But thats kind of what i want? Just delightful.

Este juego es lo que Salvador Dali es a la pintura, Pretencioso, raro, kitch, feo con cojone. No se si soy mas sanaco con los videojuegos que con el arte, ya que este juego me llamo a la primera y Dali no, pero son cosas a experimentar, suele estar extremadamente barato en oferta, asi que no puedo recomendar mas probarlo. Es una experiencia distinta a cualquier cosa, tanto en historia como visualmente.

Что-то среднее между кин дза дза и червяком джимом, но замешанное на смачном мордобое. Движок source обладает какой-то натуралистичностью физики, которая даёт прикурить другим более современным движкам и авторы прекрасно эту часть использовали. Хороший пример художественного вкуса, бодрый мордобой, но через чур короткий. Хорошая игра которую ты скорее всего пропустил.

It has great game feel and a superb style. But it's incredibly short, shallow, and easy, even after the 15-minute long "stage" where a guy talks at you on a boat. It's worth a playthrough and gets a thumbs up because it's very cheap. It could have been a great game instead of an interesting oddity if the developers had spent more time on enemy variety and content instead of the frankly retarded and embarrassing "story" elements.
