You Can Kana - Learn Japanese Hiragana & Katakana

Básicamente, es un juego de mecanografía en el que te enseñarán a leer los dos silabarios por conjuntos de sonidos; es decir, primero las vocales, luego ka, ki, ku, ke, ko... etc. Al principio será fácil, pero se irán sumando sílabas y sílabas, y tendrás que aprenderlas sí o sí para avanzar. Pero funciona. Primero te enseñará cómo se escribe y cómo se lee. Luego tendrás una práctica en la que escribirás con tu teclado las palabras que aparecen y que estarán formadas con las letras que hayas aprendido. Y luego, el desafío, donde harás lo mismo, pero con tiempo. Durante ese tiempo, las palabras acertadas llenarán una barra (y los fallos la vaciarán), teniendo que mantenerla por encima de un punto para pasar el nivel. Una vez finalizas los dos silabarios, desbloqueas un modo de juego en el que se entremezclan ambos, pudiendo elegir el nivel de la palabra (N5 a N1). Recomiendo jugar poco a poco, para que a tu cerebro le dé tiempo de asimilar lo aprendido.

[h2] TL;DR [/h2] This game is a type racer memory game that forces you to learn a specific symbol's romaji equivalent. I think that's valuable because it will enable me to begin learning words by reading manga so overall I recommend the game. There's no quick way to learn this, at some point you just have to roll up your sleeves and get to work. This game helps in that it is just a tool that fire hoses these symbols down your throat. [h3] What The Game Does [/h3] I haven't used the Katakana or JLPT sections but based off the Hiragana section you will learn the symbols and their romaji equivalent. The game itself is essentially 4 parts; 1. Symbol introduction. 2. Quiz/review. and 3. A type racer test that combines the newly learned symbols and some of the previous ones. The 4th part is an overall type racer challenge that effectively lets you review the entirety of what you've learned. [h3] Before You Start Using This Program [/h3] This should not be your only source for learning hiragana/katakana and is not something I would recommend starting off with. Print out some hiragana/katakana worksheets and practice writing the symbols while saying them out loud. Try to mimic the correct pronunciation every time you write a symbol and work through them in order e.g,.. a, i, u, e, o. Ka, Ki, Ku, Ke, Ko, etc,.. once you've done that come back to this. [h3] Negatives [/h3] The main downsides of this program are; 1, Showing the stroke order for how to write the symbols. Most people are not going to be writing these symbols with their mouse. 2. The pronunciation is not strongly reinforced, the symbols are only spoken once or twice but you easily type them 20-30 times. Hearing the sound as you see the symbol/type the romaji would make this so much better and easier to learn.

I highly recommend this game as a learning tool. I used it to reinforce the kana along with videos. I watch the videos to initially learn the individual letter groups and then go over here. Really helped fast track memorizing the letters.

I'm a native English speaker learning Japanese and I have accepted that it will take me a long time. This game keeps me sharp on all the Kana and it's so fun and relaxing. I love it!

Very efficient way to learn kana with nice music

Text is mandatory. Seriously though, this is the most fun way to learn Kana that I have found.
