About
Step into the shadowed halls of the Hellfire Club, where something, or someone, is always lying... Eyes of Hellfire is a richly atmospheric gothic horror cooperative game that plunges you and up to 4 of your friends into a cursed lodge. The game is based on real Irish legends of the secret society known as the Hellfire Club, resulting in a scenario filled with secrets, monsters, and a creeping sense of dread.
Each player harbours a hidden curse, twisting their abilities and motives, as they explore the ever-shifting rooms of the lodge. With a dynamic card-management system that changes turn by turn, you'll need to strategise carefully, share discoveries, and combine your strengths to solve cryptic puzzles, uncover unsettling lore, and survive the escalating threats that roam the manor.
But beware, the Host is always watching. This manipulative entity plays with reality itself, distorting what players perceive, trust, and believe. As paranoia sets in, will your group stay united long enough to escape? Or will the lodge claim you all?
With its blend of narrative-driven exploration, clever puzzles, and escalating tension, Eyes of Hellfire is perfect for fans of cooperative horror games like Arkham Horror, Betrayal at House on the Hill, and Mansions of Madness.

You and your friends play as a small group of unfortunate people who have recently discovered that they have each become a victim of a potentially fatal curse. They have hiked through the thick woods of the Dublin mountains and travelled to the ruins of the Hellfire Club in the hopes of discovering what connects them to this place and what, or who, has brought this curse upon them all.

You and your team have a common goal of escaping the haunted lodge while also defeating the Antagonist. But you each also have hidden solo objectives. Which will you prioritize? You must succeed at both to win. Use proximity voice chat to plot together with teammates, as well as question their motives.

Choose from a variety of characters, with their own strengths, weaknesses, and goals. Your choice will impact what you see in each play session; you’ll have to decide if it’s real or not.
Build your hand of actions: Each playthrough you start with a hand of cards that equal actions that can be done each turn, limited by your action points. As you explore the lodge, you’ll discover new and better action cards to alter your playthrough.

Do not buy this game for full price, it has been abandoned by the publisher and there will be no more updates. Extremely sad since this game has potential but needs more work before being anything more than just another early access game. You can still play the game in it's current form (with friend pass) so at least they did not completely murder it.
This game checks a lot of boxes for me. It is a co-op deckbuilder with horror elements which is super up my alley. A lot of the gameplay boils down to doing something to explore the area, getting punished for interacting with the game world, then doing it again and again. I have tried this game with two different groups which have echoed this opinion. I hope that the gameplay gets a significant overhaul before the final release because it has a lot of cool and interesting features with poor execution in the overall flow of gameplay. EDIT: The game just announced that it is not being developed anymore and will not leave early access.
I want to like this game but it is just so frustrating. Some of the mechanics need work. Frequently I get into a situation where I am trying to get through a door way but cannot properly click on it so I end up wasting time and when I finally do I have to use the slow mechanic of dragging a card onto the slot by which time an enemy runs up and engages with me and now I have to burn a card to disengage instead of originally just leaving the room. Another strange mechanic is that the game runs on turns but enemy monsters act freely. What this translates to is situations where you can run out of cards and vigor and so are unable to escape or defeat a monster who gets to freely beat you up until you and your friends end their turn. If your friends don't end their turn then the monster continues to beat on you until you die. The game introduces traps, tricks, and enemy monsters while also allowing your teammates to steal and hurt you but you do have to work together. My friend group constantly found ourselves asking why would we ever willingly betray each other when we have to work together for this game to work. It doesn't make a lot of sense and only serves to hinder your own success. Game End spoiler below! Finally, the boss is a wreck of a mechanic design. First the goal just says "survive this turn" so you're stuck in a room with the boss you spawned and are using fight cards and search cards to "defeat it" as you assume you need to do but it takes no damage and it just keeps dishing out damage. So you all end turn and are frantically talking "how do we beat this" so then you go into the next turn. Well now the boss bursts out of the room and you think oh good a moment to think and then it comes running back in so you start fighting it again but you didn't realize the goal had changed to "escape as a group" so you're just beating on this thing to no avail before someone realizes you're actually supposed to flee. Cue the next stage where now anytime someone gets hit they get teleported away to a new room with the chance of being hit below their max HP so they're dead and need reviving. Oh yeah you need the full party to be at the exit in order to escape. Remember when I said you can hurt your teammates? Why would you allow betrayal mechanics if you ALL NEED TO ESCAPE TOGETHER. It just has zero incentive and it just screws you over. At this point you're frantically screaming into the void because your entire party got seperated via teleportation and now you're trying to reach each other but more and more enemies spawn and everytime you end turn you get a vote sequence and more bad stuff happens. We ended up just giving up and letting everyone die it wasn't even worth trying anymore.
The game was unplayable due to bugs and it seems like the developers abandoned the project due to blumhouse no longer funding it… Never got to play a full run through even once as game breaking glitches got in the way of gameplay… I am also no longer qualified for a refund as it has been a while since I bought it and I had faith that the developers would fix their game…
Abandoned, there was promise with this one, but with development stopped, it will not come to pass.
It's a fun game, a bit buggy but unfortunately it will never be fixed thanks to bloomhouse's decision to pull out. gambrinous, thank you for the work you did and i'll be keeping an eye out for your future games bloomouse, don't agree to publish games if you're just gonna back out and f*ck over people like this
Shamefully abandoned.
Game was good, but I paid for a game in early access that the devs are now refusing to complete, that should be worthy of a refund, and if you're like me then you'll request one.
Abandoned before it even released. Don't promise a game if you can't deliver. Don't waste your time or money
this game has been abandoned and I want my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ money back.
